Great movie, love the fragseries and especially where woc>veriz gets it from Dimmo. Very nice airrockets, though most of them were made by Damiah, so I don't wonder why you love the movie dami.
Have to agree to several comments on the fact that the music is in the beginning quite strange, though I especially liked the "painkiller"-song which fitted in quite perfectly.
Can't wait for vol.2! Thank you Dimmo for finally wrapping this project of yours!
Actually I wanted a bit more effects on this, but knowing that it is a real frag movie it's OK. This movie really defines how a fragmovie should look like. I think it should have been longer considering finnish scene history, but if there will be vol2 so let it be. GJ!
Huhu finally u did it! Nice music selection, syncing is great and quality is just awesome. For a movie the main goal is to entertain , and this movie entertanited me very well. Didn't feel it like 15+ mins. I really like the content, some really awesome frag streaks. Not that overused air frags, there's something special always on the long clips. The movie absoluty Dimmo style, i've found a lot of fun in it. Rememberin me to the old kta movie.
It's great that you kept your own style/taste for this project too, and presented it here with a nice content.
quality is very good but i wouldn't expect anything else from the 790mb file
you`ve made some nice synchro here and there like the 14:10 rocket (now thats something to remember) but i have seen some excellent frags builded with the same amount of intensity as the gap-filler ones. try to exploit the music more, find those special spots (rythm change or ending) and fit them with the right recam or with the whole scene even, those frags deserve to be on those places. now dont get me wrong you did good job but keep that in mind while creating vol2. for the "4 years of making" product there is something missing and i think that would be it

skins, brightness, music - i`m glad that every movie maker has its own style, we need all of them to keep everybody entertain, only Ven makes every movie different form previos and that is his style also got to look after the trade mark ;]
17 minutes is long but people here are right, time flies when you watch it. some say "time fly when your having fun". nice xmas present for the whole scene, GW

- music ...i didnt feel it at all - ruined almost all movie for me - good that last song was more energetic - it just shows how important music is in that kind of production... - i had a feeling that first 3/4 of the movie was an introduction and after that finally we had some action - no q2 sounds
It should be "dimmo's hits" because like 50% of the frags were his.
I started with this soundtrack on year 2005. I realized before publishing the movie, that the songs might be a little too slow paced and won't get viewers full attention if they don't happen to like the music. It was too late to change things and I couldn't risk the movie with another postpone. I also believe that people who have same music taste as me won't see the music tempo as a big problem - I've done my best to fit the frags into the music and sync it right in every way syncing can be made.
What I'm trying to say, is that IF there will be Finnhits Vol.2 or Euro-frag-movie made by me, I'm definitely going to make the movie with a blasting soundtrack, one that will make you spam your say binds as you forget you weren't in quake.
Now if you are getting ideas about sending me demos - don't post here. Query me in irc instead or wait for my forum post about my future plans on q2 movies.
I have to say, it's the best q2 movie, I've seen. Music follows whats happening just well. The quality is great, no fancy effects, clean video settings, I LIKE! And on top of that, it blows your mind fragwise! The few actions I didn't like: your rl run, starting ~4.20 (not that I could do that, but it isn't as impressive :p) and the mg/hb thing (ok, you hit 100%, but whats there to enjoy?, I don't get it). I loved aavikko and disco mountain parts. Great fusion of 'humorous' and 'normal' actions. The quadrun against veriz and spawn/lift squashing were hilarious . Oh and the most important thing - you didn't forget about those who don't have fancy-10-core-cpu! Thank you, sir!
I liked: + Quality + Graphics (best I've seen in any Q2 movie so far, perfect choice of textures and skins) + FRAGS (most of them but especially the air rockets because they weren't "lucky" air rockets, the players knew what they were doing and they were all intended to happen. Many of Damiah's frags were, like, WTF?!) + "Camera work" -> every frags were clear and the recams were usefull to that purpose
I didn't like: - The music: the songs in themselves aren't bad but they didn't match the awesomeness of the frags. Those frags were fucking epic and you had to hear a relaxed "elevator" music in the background which didn't translate the whole feel of the action.
When there's one of these frags in a match and that people are on GTV, they aren't like "Gentlemen, would you like some more tea and, by the way, have you seen the nice frag?". No, people go crazy and spam frantically unintelligible things. The music should translate that craziness... I didn't feel that. - No in-game sound. - A bit too many slow motion sequences. It's about taste I guess but I prefer when the speed of the game is displayed in the movie, it makes frags even more impressive. - Too short, I want MOAR :p

Great movie Dimmo. I could sense the atmosphere on these frags. Music was synced well and I loved the "Surfing On A Rocket" - part. I didn't feel bored at any point, in fact I would have wanted to see more and more!! It's always refreshing to see frags from other maps than Q2DM1. Overall great frags and music. I especially loved the sarcasm, irony and humour on this one. If Quentin Tarantino played Q2, this could be directed by him.
if movie is called vol. 1, there must be a sequel vol. 2! After watching this movie I was already thinking that you must've had much more material to use than what made into this movie. Also I'm sure many players have much more recent demos and nice frags to share, if you are interested :-)

I'm thinking of finnhits vol.2 because there are so many unused great demos left. I have also ffa (3x double rails in a row, 4 frags with 1 slug, mad mid airs and killing sprees) and ctf demos if some good movie maker is interested. All demos are cut and there are enough material for full movie on each mod. l will make a forum post about this later.
Oh and there is a stream available at http://www.own3d.tv/watch/finnhits-vol.1,21313.html not sure about the quality though, haven't uploaded nor checked it yet.

what I enjoyed the most:
+ FRAGS, not frags - but FRAGS and MULTIFRAGS (I noticed a few 'every-day frags', most of them are just niceOnesFreakinSkillLuck FRAGS I love the most ) + FRAGS mixed with omfglolheherofl actions (good sense of humour I think) + Quality - I do like the vid settings ! huge advantage of this project + Music - It's fine for me...
- Too short - I would like to see other male/female skins. I know this is 'Dimmo's trademark' but it's kinda boring...
Conclusion: 10 for sure... best movie of 2009 - no doubt about it !
