It has been over a year without NDML now. The activity in the Q2 scene might not be at its highest point but there is still a lot of passion in this game.

There's been a lot of matches and dramas between individuals and between clans. It sure was very entertaining but isn't it better when you add a bit of good old patriotism in the rumble ?

We are interested in running a new season of NDML. For that, we need enough teams ready to participate.

That means teams that can get at least 5 players at the signup stage... but that can also keep it until the end of the season.

If you think you can gather a team for your country or if you simply think someone else could: LET US KNOW by contacting me (through the q2scene messenger or IRC) or by posting a comment.

	Nowdays I think i'd go with regional teams. The key is to have competition for entry and when your country only has 6 active players that is gone. Patriotism is secondary to elitism hheeh. I think a round robin with four teams could work. North (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway), South (Spain, Portugal, italy, Baltic states, Greece, Turkey), East (Russia, Poland, Eastern Eurpean States) West (UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland...)

	just make a 2x2 NDML League and you will see how the number of nations will increase... btw in small countries its not anymore about the "best players" are in the squad, its all players which left on the scene in that country...

	I think that NDML cries for reformes. Unfortunately, we have to accept conditions of this day and age. If number of "active" countries drastically fall, i see no reason why not to allow benelux. In PLQ2, which I am head admin, system of 2 rounds works perfectly. Thanks to that, we have just few clans in a division but plenty of games and you always have a chance to get revange over clan that has beaten you (not including play offs).

	Ok so I've thought about all the comments you guys made and I would like to give my opinion on several points: I thought about what makes NDML a cool league and, imo, the first thing is that it brings a sense of pride that other leagues don't. Players are proud to be selected as one of the best in their country and they are proud to represent their country in a competitive thing, even if it's only a video game. The second thing is that you get to see people who don't usually play with each other in the same team. It brings some change compared to the regular clan leagues and it's always nice to see how people manage to collaborate. Then another point is -at least I hope- the way the league has been handled. NDML has a lower level of quality in term of competitivity. The teams that participate are most of the time less good than the top clans because people aren't used to play with each other. But the other admins and I always tried to compensate that with a great coverage, layout, and overall a good following. Our idea was, like blaizz said, quality > quantity. Some seasons were better than others but we had a couple of epic moments. So considering all that, I think it wouldn't be so great to run an NDML season that feels "forced" with half-active teams and imaginary countries... BUT, I don't think we'll ever get as many teams as we used to get. So that would mean the end of this league. Another year without an NDML season wouldn't help at all. So maybe, Blaizz' idea could be great: an NDML Invitational. That would mean a league with less teams than usual. Even less than 8. And with exceptions concerning the countries allowed (yeah, that means Benelux maybe). There are still a couple of problems with that though: allowing countries like Benelux leaves the door open for anything. I mean, Benelux is not a country, it's nothing. It's an economical zone in the EU and that's all. Allowing such "countries" kinda decreases the sense of pride that is a key component of NDML. I, as a Belgian, wouldn't mind playing for a Benelux team but I wouldn't feel the patriotism in that. So here we are, I'd like to know your opinions about that... What do you guys think of an invitational ? How do you picture it ?

	Benelux-team might be really competitive to Swe-Pol-Fin, same to Russia, Estonia and Lithuania if they will have strong lineups - sounds good for making at least NDML invitational if there wont be enough teams for standard league quality>quantity (c) as for ukrainian nubz, it seems impossible to get squad((( Muhaha went to Sydney, got job there, so he even not in Ukraine. the rest are completely inactive too Edited: 2010-03-12 09:07

	Benelux is not a country. This is a nation league, only nations can play in it. Benelux could play in EQ2L as a team but not in NDML. Same goes for ex-nations or ex-gatherings of nations like USSR, Yugoslavia, etc. Otherwise we could go back to the time of the Roman Empire to make a team with all the countries included.

	If you could get up to 8 teams to compete, it would be great, but somehow I think that it would be wiser to postpone this season to, let's say, January 2011. Teams should be conscious that there WILL be NDML #9 next year, so they should and could start preparing for that. Personally, I would love to see someone breaking this SWE-POL-FIN domination. Estonia with Shug, Aone, Covell, Xed maybe? 8-)

	UK could have a squad but depends on the time of year. If it's to close to summer time then most UK players won't be around Q2. I also intend to hang up my Q2 boots once Euroq2l finishes (and I know I always say that but this time it's genuine). My summer will be spent preparing for university and partying/working. I don't hardly see C12 anymore and I know he's on some shitty wireless connection that keeps disconnecting now. Eon I hardly ever see and he isn't even English, he just lives in UK. Could always ask Zilla?

	I don't think we'll ever get as many teams as we used to have so I'm hoping for a minimum of 8 teams. If we have 8 teams with enough activity to last for one season, it can be a nice league and maybe it'll inspired retired countries to come back next season... who knows
