First off big thanks to SEBbull for his awesome work on the site, making it look great with his new css and artwork. A big improvement from how it used to look!
The groups are now online, and the will kick off on this Monday (August 20th) and last untill Sunday August 26th. Games from other rounds can be played out of order, as long as they are finished within the deadline of the original round.
Maplist :: q2dm1, q2dm3, ztn2dm2, ztn2dm3, aerowalk, q2rdm2, ptrip

Jester has also made a duel map, , that he has released for testing. It's currently only on this server:
 Telenet Warserver (TDM - Anticheat) :: 82.192.78.28:27911
Be sure to get other admins to upload this map to their server so players can test it out!

Thoughts about the map layout and item placement. Tell me what you like about the and what you think should be changed to make the map better. Please take demos of your games and when you think you have something to show, post the demos!"

Jester has made a 4 vs 4 map, , which he is putting up on a server for public testing. The map can currently be tested on:
Telenet Warserver (TDM - Anticheat) :: 82.192.78.28:27911
Other server-admins are encouraged to put this map on their servers so players and clans can test it!
OhYeah :: "The map uses only default Q2 textures. The map is big, sort of like a cross between dm2 and dm8, but it is not as open as Q3 maps usually are. The gameplay will hopefully be quite interesting, as there RA to hold on the upper level, as well as Railgun on the opposite side of the map, and Quad is placed on the lower level, which is very hard to camp so timing and teamplay become more and more important."

After a pretty successful of we're currently searching for enough teams for a season to start this fall.
Unfortunately the feedback this far hasn't been exactly overwhelming, but there might be some European clans that are interested to join. Last season we saw HDTP have a nice showing with players from HBQ/play/CD, and  +plus made a good appearance as well. So if any clans from Europe feel like they want the high-ping challenge to show those Americans what is really up, be sure to write so in either this thread or the I made a few days back.
I know the European scene is still having its summer hibernation, but any feedback is better than no feedback! We're aiming for 8 clans, and so far I'm only certain we can get 4, max 5 if some unclanned players form a new team, so there is plenty room for outsiders. |

Slasher over at has made some interviews at the event, where he asked naymlis (American Q2 player) some questions about the event. He also interviewed  Griffin, whom he (slasher) beat in Quake2 in the Quad-Damage tourney (video of the game can be viewed at the site).

The community ran a successful a few months ago, and are now ready to run another one.
The cup (3rd in the series) is open to anyone who wants to play some CTF, allthough it is preferrable that you are from Europe as the matches are played there. There are only individual sign-ups, then players willl be assigned random teams before the cup starts.
