I don't know if I've understood the situation correctly, but ON1 *GAVE* the engine to BubkeZ? Since when is stealing something you do when a person is *GIVING* you something?
From what I've understood, the problem lies in BubkeZ releasing the movie before "The Final Act" when ON1 requested him not to...?

Everything here is damn right.
Personally i dont think the movie was too long (its never too long. Eventually you can watch it in parts). But you could cut most of the avis in front and on the end (often i got a thought: oh is he gonna frag more on this streak? and then the action turns into other).
And about the effects/sync. Use them to intensify the feelings (experience). Even everyday frag might be like OMFG I DIE!! WHAT THE HELL???. Many people told me that the frag after the matrix scene in PFF2 (that rail from rookie) was the best frag in the movie. In fact the frag was just simple and everyday.
And the last thing. If you decided to delete prints in KG, why there are some spare left? like "5 mins left", "out of ammo", some timers or even RICKY's SMILEY
Apart from that, everything was fine and i must admit, these 20 mins were fast 20 mins.
Thats all about the movie.
Unfortunately i must agree with dimmo on the second issue. That many
"poles cant express themselves without insulting people." TBH there was some kind of uprising against bubkez's deed on polish forum. Thats why many poles reacted without giving any reason. Then i also feel that ibogine's comment explains a bit what they wanted to say And it is obvious that slonken is trying to provoke these poles.
To all you guys: get a life... why hate? I don't know why i'm writing this... Hopefully we will never get back to it, because it won't change anything

I watched this movie and I like it. Mostly coz frags... why? Because there's almost nothing more. Music wasn't bad. At the beggining there were some sync and nice effects and it was v nice.... but after that frags frags and only frags! Movie was too long! And that all affair with this engine or sth, that sad. ;> Anyway
so bubkez, have i understood ur words wrong? corecct me but it seems that i cannot judge movie that i have just watched in cinema because i have never made any great cinema movie of my own. i suppose noone from the movie theatre did, so nobody can judge the producer or director, even actors cause they have never played anywhere.

Its not about giving it 5 stars, its just that it seems like ppl have no clue what they are talking about, and its very easy to post comments like BAD MUSIC BAD EFFECTS etc, but i made this movie, and i would never have music i DONT like, and ive tried to have as much effects i want, its was meant to be a frag movie not a PFF2 ripoff like some other are trying to make.
Im very happy with the resault and its was exactly like i wanted it to be, and its strange that it is ALWAYS ppl at DS whos whining and not on other sites, very strange.
I can also add Foen that i dit NOT add this on DS (both times) or on esreality, i just add it on own-age cuz it feelt right, untill some random polish starting to whine there as well, very mature are they.

Are you doing these movies to yourself or to whole scene? If you do it to us, then i think we are allowed to rate it how we like it. And if you don't want us to vote/rate then don't publish your movies.
But the fact is that 75%? from all movies are just like yours, just frags and no efects and hardly none musicsync. So it is getting boring to see this kind of movies over and over again.
I know it is hard work and take lots of time. But tell me what is the point give 5 stars to it if you really don't like it? If we don't give you negative feedback you will make same kind of movies in future too, and don't even try to make them better.

First of all I don't understand what people are rating. Isn't the point of the rating to rate the movie ? Not the one who made it ? I personnaly doesn't care who made the movie, I as a viewer care about the movie itself.
It doesn't matter what effects movie has , what recams are made, is syncing used or not , that what really matters is the feeling after watching it . If you like to watch it again, and againg then it is the one - one of the best.
This is one of this that I really enjoyed watching , not because there is some engine (PS I liked the HLB2 look more), but because it looks great overall - impressive frags , music , and the feeling of q2.

I fully agree with Foen. The source of the problem is 0N1. It is already known that Polish and Scandinavian movies are kinda in a "battle". Everybody wants to do better, etc. And what does 0N1. He gives the engine, which Harven has been modifing especially for him (=aK). Now isn't that a very stupid thing to do. It would be quite ok, if he would've given him the movie AFTER their release. And I think that those, who are deffending bubkez, are just trying make pols understand that. (And some1 is just likes insulting ).
So lets finish the arguement. It is everybody's fault: 0N1's, bubkez's, pols', bubkez defenders'.

About the movie i think 0N1 shouldn't be too worried. If you compare the final act trailer and this there is a huge difference.
- no music syncs
- music was a bit booring atleast few last songs. That kind of trance or what ever it was doesn't really fit in to q2movies.
- in my eyes his way to play public ruins all grenade frags.
- lack of editing
- too long, if you want to make 20min movie there have to be something else than just frags.

That engine seems nice indeed but it's not a big revolution, I've watched the movie, well I noticed some nice reflects on the weapons etc. but nothing that was OMFG OUTSTANDING!!!
Let's say Bubkez would have released it after aK's movie, what would that have changed? The effects would still be made via the same modified beefquake.

Maybe you're all thrilled with those frag movie awards but im pretty sure they don't give a fuck if a movie use the same effects than another one and which one was released first.
There are things more important than that, this movie is pretty nice although I'm convinced that The Final Act will be better. Someone talked about Desire movie... Well personnally, as a spectator, I thought directly that it was a copy of PFF2, in this way IT IS important to know which movie was released first of course, but for bubkez movie I doubt it's near the same as TFA will be.
In conclusion: stop thinking that the world of Quake2 (its scene, its matches, its movies,..) is so important to call someone a "thief" (I'm still laughing at that )
i've read most comments previously and although i've hardly posted anything here concerning movies lately i will express my opinion... not actually about the movie because when i found out it was made on ak's bf i didn't intend to watch it (i'm rather gonna see it after ak's movie is released).
it's a bit annoying to see how you scandish ppl are defending bubkez after he had done such a thing ... ye he didn't steal it, but also promised not to publicise the movie so early for oni's request( if he were decent he would've kept promise). And you're saying that polish ppl make a sensation out of it ? that we shouldn't be complaining? oh ye it's best to call us thieves or swear at us...
and nice sloken who started rating all polish movies with 1 star (although it certainly doesn't deserve it) turned out to be VERY inteliggent and mature. It shouldn't be less than 5-6 even if you didn't enjoy watching (it least because of how much effort they've put into making these movies and effect quality). and as far as i remember you also wrote that polish ppl constantly prove how stupid they are or smth like that... so far you've proved what idiot you're by writing all the comments and judging demos in that way.
i won't speak of bubkez cause it was his choice whether he wanted to become fucking noob or not. instead of defending him you should try to understand ak who have been working on these movie for a long time. the fact that 0N1 made this movie accessible for him only shows how helpful he wanted to be and what slut bubkez is.

first of all. pff2 cuz they focused more on effect than quality of frags :/
i think that pff1 is much more better than the second one.
and desire is just a copy of pff2, with the same effects and so on, the only thing i liked in desire was the jump section and that babe ^^
I knew something will happen so i backuped my comments
Here we go, after watching it two times:
- quality after two compressions
- using such high fov makes the mid air frags look nicer but the long distance frags were harder to see. kinda questionable trick
- lots, lots of misses. it clearly showed you appreciated your own content too much and didnt dare to cut the demos shorter
- i didnt notice much of the music sync
- useless prints like "armor 20" or "a guy was killed in another side of the map" wasnt removed. would had been easier to follow whats happening
- both skins were male which made again the movie harder to follow. also the skins werent colored too differt
- the screen blinking was annoying, good that you didnt use that effect till the end of the movie - the ztn2dm3 railfrag look like a real filler frag - recams were mostly "uncontrolled" swinging around. i know its very time consuming to make smooth recams, but its worth it
+ full ingame sound was new thing. tho i would had done it to alternative sound track (can be done in wmv9) - to let people choose between plain music and music&ingame sound, but thats just my opinion.
+ intro was quite nice and it succeeded in its purpose - to gain the good feeling to watch the movie
+ content was mainly movie worth and lots of woah!-frags. frags at 5:30 and 16:55 were something that you will always remember the dm5 and dm8 mid air rl frags were also great
+ video config and color correction were nice
+ outro was good and left better feeling about the movie
Conclusion:
There were older frags yes, which is generally not acceptable, but i thought this movie as an upgrade to your old movies, so now i can delete your earlier movies and keep this one to save disk space I think there was enough material to cut away to make the movie total lenght 15 mins or shorter, which is the maximum attention span time for average watchers.
Thanks for the movie, i hope this wont be your last. Think about making a movie about some other peoples frags too.
