Yeah, the ending of the tournament wasn't good at all. Players giving up in the finals and saying they "didn't feel like playing" just makes no sense to me. Shells gave up near the end on both maps (q2dm1 and q2dm2) and forfeitted the last map. In a tournament with 16 players you'd expect the final to be played without players giving up forfeitting maps etc. But if players don't feel like playing what can I do? Can't really let the opponent wait for him to get his urge for playing back, it could take months for all I know. And with the IC tournament dying near the end (cause of shells disappearing when he was gonna play naymlis) I just wanted it to end. Which it did
Pretty sad the attitudes of players ruins the end of the tourney like this. Spent a lot of time making this end, but the tourney got messed up when ep got all tempremental really. And naymlis were never really put to the test. For more intresting and better games I'd watch some of the quarterfinal demos where the most exciting games took place. shells-rigg5, sinurgy-dahang and ep-acidrainn are all 3 games that were pretty tense without players dropping out.
But at least it was finished before EDL, and looking from what I've read on the site doesn't look like it's run 100% smoothly either, guess 1v1 tourney's require some diehard dedicated admins litterally forcing people to play on time.
at the begining i thought "damn at last good demo from usa" and even turned my winamp off... it was like that for about 6-7minutes till shells gave up... rest of the demo is kinda dissappointing for ur usa scene, if ur finals looks like that :/ i think it could end in other way!
