@name: pretty much agree with your dm1 analysis...but ive heard more people complain about Edge as a good duel map than ptrip.
However...your chastity summary is thin; you have to ADD cg to it: "on rdm2, one who spawns at rail and manages to take mega [AND GRAB CG], will be pushing another one from spawn to spawn"
don't blame map if mod developers don't know how to make good spawn code just look otdm on ptrip with that avoid closest settings... its worst then battle

@spectator_1 not really: prtip is bad map because one, who takes raigun+RA will make another a spawnvictim (on rdm2, one who spawns at rail and manages to take mega, will be pushing another one from spawn to spawn. there is not much use if he spawns near railgun - he will die after first rail shot because there are no armor nearby. at q2dm1, if killed player spawns near water, he will get some armor to survive 1 shot, high chance hit another one, and spawning near ssg can take better position to finish an opponent or armor himself etc.

The rail spawn, more often than not, gives the fresh fragged player a powerful gun to get back in the match, hence making it more interesting. Why doesn't anybody complain about ptrip's spawning? Easy. It's a very fast-paced map that's got built-in karma: for as many spawnrape frags you get, you die the same way the same number.
As I've already pointed out in the Dami/Ibo EDL match AND in response to Pogo: IMHO, q2rdm2 is even MORE balanced than dm1. Here's why:
+ Mega is open and centrally located. + rg area accessed MUCH easier, resulting in both players getting rg AND many more rail fights. + No ONE area dictating the action like dm1's megaroom + jump pads, "flow-thru" map design and scale encourage players to adopt a rhythmic, QW/cpma'ish movement and attack.
Gerp YOU beat Dami, not railspawns. Your style fits this map -- don't fight it!
how many times spawnrailing destroyed even and interesting game... that's why id increased health limit in q3. that or 1 sec invulnerability may fix spawn raping in ptrip, q2dm1 and prevent spawncamping - very popular tactic on playground.ru where the wise guys stand behind the spawn
eu^ its to show up to those #edl discussers how broken the map is, few railspawns in right time makes it totally unfair... you would understand after seeing Turricane vs DM game too
