I like it. I would like to see a bit more recams and effects. The last 5 mins was a bit boring, maybe due to some overused music. But i still like the idea , some really awesome runs. A 12-13 min version with better quality / engine / effects / music could be 10/10. This way its like 8.5 resp.
Sorry the_one, since ive got 30kb/s of upload, i didnt have time yet to host the movie as it requires like 9hours of uploading. I hope that I will do it soon
I was looking forward for a q2 defrag movie for a long time, that one with all those perfectly performed ultra speed jumps on those high colored maps. THIS IS IT, The Awesomisness of Nookie Skill!
Must see for everyone who ever had smth to do with q2 community, I fully and truly recomend it.
Insane jumping skills and movie! I really don't know how you made all this crazy jumping stuff (fps changes, etc.?). The normal jumps are hard enough fpr me I don't care about the music, but it could have been in a little better resolution, for sure. But besides- great work und thumbs up!
no no, dont get me wrong, my pc isnt slow, its quadcore 3.3, I have just an issue rendering using x264 weird video quality and sound issues too when i try to save as .avi so it has to stay as wmv. I will talk to you on irc about hosting :]
Well, i was trying x264 and xvid but it didnt render very well, movie was laggy i HAD to go with wmv. The_One theres no 32bit textures for jumpmaps. 720p and 60fps could be laggy on slower pcs, but I can still upload it if anyone wants me too. I need some ftp place tho, around 800mb for HD version.
I agree with Dimmo - today we need a minimum of 720p. I also imagined how it looked to all 32-bit textures. But certainly for these maps are no 32-bit textures? It would be very nice to see this video in 720p with 32-bit textures! In any case - a very good start! Nice work n00k1e!!!
Great job nookie! The content is amazing and you chose the maps well for the movie. Some rewarding syncs here and here and nice looking config.
But now the minuses - so that people won't think it's ok to do these mistakes: - Low resolution (today's standard is 720p or more) - Bad compression (you should go for x264)
Selecting music that people have used before is like using the same trick or same jump map that has been used before - you get a feeling that you've seen this before, I don't need a replay. I know it's hard to select music for a movie. You need to actively listen to music, you have to take it as a hobby. Your music taste and/or knowledge won't evolve if you don't try new music. First step towards this is to delete your playlist and get new songs.
Crazy skills - nuff said. Gotta give some credit to those map artists too, some of the maps look just breathtaking and cook up quite an acrophobia. Not gonna complain about the music although I agree with michaq. I just pressed mute in the media player and put on my fav music, that worked great.
It was hard to choose a good music for a jump movie, u have to understand that and since its a jumpmod, not tdm movie i can also say: "good music, not seen before in jumpmod movie" D
..and the mistake, yes, there is a mistake but its on one of the hardest maps ever created, stubbsyjump31 was released around 2003 i think and noone could finish it until the end of 2008 so im really pround of that run and its ONLY ONE mistake, could be like 10 of them hehe
thanks for your opinion and i expect to hear some more
