Yes, its true. eXtreMe uploaded many demos vs top polish players but i have decided to delete all of them. On polish forum named sp!l uploaded demo where we can see how eXtrEme is using Wallhack. Of course we dont want cheaters here so my decision should be clear. Peace!

	After playing some Q3 and a lot of Q4 I would probably never wanna play serious duel in Q2 again. Biggest reason for me would be that it's allowed to use .wav timers for armors/weapons <--- thats rich you saying that, you used to use them like it was a damn ritual, it was me who classed them as a way of cheating.

	i think anyone who played some years without timers just feel when will an item spawn if he know when it have been taken.. btw glowskin or brightnes by modulate or monitor needed cuz q2 is too dark on default. Edited: 2006-10-17 21:46

	The problem with .wav timers is even if they are stopped in Q2 for example with anticheat, external programs such as winamp with global hotkeys could be used as a timer if someone really wanted to get the advantage. The same is true for Q3 and Q4, unless the respawn times are randomized, I don't see how item timing can be avoided on a non-LAN environment. Edited: 2006-10-17 20:03

How hard is it if you really just push a button to time? =) You cant even imagine how hard it was to learn timing after 6 years of autopilot with Q2 and just listening to 5...4...3...2...1... =) Timing without timers would make the dueling alot more fun to Q2 again. It would seperate the autopilot players from the real skilled players more. The only thing that would need a change if you would to remove the timers is the awful in-game clock for Q2, it's barely visible and hard to look at in-game. I dont know if many of you knew, but Quakecon 2005 used 100% original Q2 with r1q2. No brights, no timers and no sounds. The feeling of knowing that your opponents are 100% relying on their own brain/skill to time was rather cool. No timers for the win Have not seen the cheaters demo. Just wanted to say a few words what I think about Q2 within the limits of gameplay/cheating.

	bah, never used any timers, and it's btw i agree with you Gravgon, thrue words, but different q2-s gives a little bit more chance to cheat, actually u can play normally with a pure q2 too, but ofc everyone like his own.(cars) Anyways, i think this 'free' way is really ok, and i think q2 was/is the most clear fps game ever.. cheaters are really rare here... And i think in a little scene like this, isn't any place for them, and they gonna be wasted...

	Customisation is a part of Quake imo. It's one of the features that makes it such an awesome game. Everybody has its own Q2, it's a bit like tuning your car in a race. The only thing which shouldn't have been tolerated for so long is .wav timers. I think Q2 is the only game in which they're admitted and even used by everyone. In other FPS games, timing items is a big part of the skill required. Yet again, I totally love my own custom 20 seconds wav timer in french

	i think the biggest lol , when r1q2 users all time blame nc's. same shit yea, best way would be a pure q2 without any paks, proxy, client etc... anyways i need only the "xp mouse fix" from the nc, that is the one and only necessarry thing what i need to play , nothing else. aa and maybe a cfg with weapon binds and movement, thats all.
