1. I'm not a troll. I'm an academic, and academics argue views. This alone shows how narrow minded you are to just presume such a notion.
2. You just went on a big rant about about your own opinions and 'what you think' but didn't supply any reasoning to it at all. Don't tell me 'what', tell me 'why'.
You say I use false logic, you say that leagues reflect true skill.... but why? Give me a structured argument. If you can't then I hate to tell you, but you project more symptoms of being a troll than I do pal.
3. Where does this notion come from that I beat players at 4am in the morning and they automatically seem to 'not be trying'. That sounds like a serious case of self reinforced delusion. I've beat plenty more and better players than the dregs left in modern Quake 2 so don't try too hard to over protect them.
If you want me to shut up, write something that I can't respond too, or at least with a credible argument. You think you already are doing that but pay attention. It boils down to a simply factor: Lack of consistancy.
How to improve consistancy of performance: Practice daily. No, not just play Quake, you need to learn, refine, invent, adjust and develop.
How is that done: Starts with Enthusiasm and determination. (for those who don't know me too well, which is pretty much all of you, I lost my determination and enthusiasm in about 2001) Next up is time, time to apply to such a task. Then there is the condition of both your mental and physical state. You wouldn't believe how much agile acuity and twich reflexes make a difference.
Before any of you say 'Why do you say all this stuff when you gave up in 2001?'. It's because it's still the truth. Reason I can't be bothered is quite simply because I already know the result.... There is no excitement in that.
Well there it is. Some of you are really that stupid that I have just had to explain a basic methodology of how the clock ticks (analogy for Quake 2 for the morons). Remember, you may look at the face and tell the time, but I see the cogs turning.
Oh and one more thing. If you don't care, leave Quake 2 because it's not caring that is killing it.

But, you also lose in public. The only difference is that you play more games and not always there are spectators etc. Nobody is able to control/check it. So you can just pretend to win everything... That's the only reason you say publics are more important.
Also you imply that you are a good player and satisfied cause you know the game. Yet 'satisfied' is exactly what everyone can see, you are not. A satisfied player won't quit leagues like this.
Delita, when you leave in all of the league you enter, ofcourse you get sick. You should try finish one like a man and get over the losses. You might feel better then. ^^
I couldn't have been on Quake 2 since I don't have it installed anymore. I deleted it after I played DM in Edge because I was sick to death of the Quake 2 scene.
