Painfully long group stage is behind us and we are all looking forward into playoffs. There are several interesting games to pick from but you guys have decided that Covell vs shuugghh is the most exciting. Well, I can't argue with that. What makes this particular match so electrifying is that it can go either way since both of those players are capable of delivering solid results. Also, we can describe it as a battle of styles. Read more in news extension...

CoVell is an old-school player from Estonia who made a sucesfull come back into spotlight of q2 scene by winning last season of Russian Duel League. His victory over Optimus was really noticed in Europe and he raised himself up in pecking order. Since than he proved his credentials as a strong dueller in EDL (loosing to 3rd placed nopek last season) and also in current season of Edge. Although the greatest of all maps is not his strongest points, he missed out on 1st place in group only due to some lucky Agent's walkovers. However, being able to compete with player like zorre on equal footing is not something you can be ashamed of.

Shugghh on the other hand is not a sophisticated dueller. He is well known and respected for his tdm skills but on duel stage he still has a lot to learn. His loss to Isbjorn in Russian Edge League was a significant sign that although aim and movement can rival top players, he can't easily control his nerves or keep coolness. As every good player know it is vital part of winning games in torunaments, especially during playoff stages. Thruth to be told he didn't have really tough group. Stasiek with all his silky aim and movement presents a joyfull brand of Quake2 simillar to Shugghh himself. He also won with Pogo which always looks good on any player's CV.

Games like those are particulary exciting. In my opinion the main question will be whether CoVell will be able to play smart enough to decrease skill difference between them and will shugg be able to keep his cool if a map takes its course against him. At this stage of the league, any player can win with anyone else on their day. CoVell is by no means easy opponent for whoever and Shugghh has shown, he has weaknesses and played properly can be defeated. I, for one, will be looking forward for GTV coverage on this one.
