Playoffs starts now!!!

So Group stage is finished and you can see the final standings.
Unfortunately there were lots of warnings and that lead to kicking most of the players. After all this we have left only 8 players who didn't get 5 or more warnings and stayed in the League.
They are: Damiah, faint, pr0to, numavezi, st!gmata, zyga, apkis, devonee. Although pr0to was 3rd in his group we are adding him to playoffs.

I am sure you all read the rules and already know it but just to remind you:
Playoffs follow double elimination system.
Playoff games are played as a best of 5 maps.
The grand final is played as a best of 7 maps.

Also I would like to, once again, remind that players have to go to their match page and leave comment about when they can play.
So it would be wise to spend few minutes of your time to do that and we all will have nice Playoffs.
So go check the schedule and start playing!
You have till Sunday to play the games currently in schedule.

	I agree. 1 day cups for any amount of money backed by real sponsors (pipe dream, I know) would be the best solution in my eyes to increase activity/numbers among players and spectators.

	these long leagues are not gonna save q2, simple as that. People get older, have families, work, whatever-other-kind-of-duties. There just is no time to keep playing and keep your shape up for a long period of time.

Imo some 1 day cups every now and then, announced early enough, could bring up some interest back and maybe some older bigger names back as well. I know I would consider participating myself, even if I'd get my ass handed to me on pretty much all games props for admins still trying to do something with this game, you guys rock. edit: oh and thaigo is right, after wizards withdrew from q2, the finnish scene pretty much died and it had a big effect on all of q2 scene. 	That's quite true actually. The Finnish players leaving Quake 2 really got the ball rolling. Quake 2 was only half the glory anyway back then but still that was the beginning of the end.

Only things i read from u is whine,whine,whine sounds like some failure kido...Droped from every duel leagues,becouse of no skillz in quake2.Mad Regent was skilled on dm1,but u choose to stay with the nostalgia instead of doing something positive for the scene! I have fresh ideas for the scene ,and i will share it on time :ql: Now u can start whine how the scene kick u out ,the scene drops u becouse of your FAKE SKILLZ,made in china etc.... 	Exactly, Quakelive dying would be a blessing to Quake 2. Not only that, it's a common thing for communities to come together if there is some kind of threat or tragedy. Z1on and Teichoi, you two call me a troll and yet all you have done to dish out abuse and cried about what 'has' happened and what we 'should' have done rather than giving an actual rational solution to the situation now. 	You know,you're supposed,to put spaces,after your,commas. The reason people stop playing is because they lose interest. Really, you aren't going to get anywhere with stricter rules. The players themselves have to be interested in a game for a league to be a success. Quake 2 will NOT be revived, or come back to life, or whatever you call it in just one tournament or league. Rome wasn't built in a day. Like Delita said, it's not the smartest idea just to keep trying to push a tournament. It's not all the admin's fault anyway. I think Welkin and ceba did a great job with Edge and EDL, but there just aren't that many interested players. When QuakeLive came along, a lot of people moved there from Quake 2. The best you can hope for is that QL goes under.

	I so agree with ZION-master's last comment He got it all right, all of it. Generally, i think it may have been a mistake to introduce edge #3 league when edl was still running and not long ago eq2l ended. wisest must be to run 1 league at a time, in these crisis. (tho not to the extent as the troll nublita believes). ceba: nah, ladder system will not work, believe me! welk: i know, but I rather meant that the rulez might provoking this behaviour to many players, if rules are altered (to smth more suitable - dont ask me what) then automatically players will have more easy at tournaments: more games played, less w/o's and other lame things.

	People who playing quake 2 about nostalgia,cant comeback!!! I know 2 3 of the greatest bulgarians q2 players who play it for the nostalgia ,and this is = 1,2 tdm games 1,2 times in the year...Look at bubkez,dimmo,mikko etc! I dont play for the nostalgia,only becouse i have FUN!!!There is so many purpose u can find in the ppl ,but nostalgia is just to sit and cry over the dead corpse ,long time gone things! Stupid Delita and FARTjoke....... People need entertaining and huge amount of classic battles in demosquad ,like Provi vs Purri,Scooby vs Damiah,Dimmo vs Damiah ,Slippi vs Turricane,Purri vs Odis Purri vs Assasin .Purri vs Welkin ,Sccooobs vs Warrior or Error...the old blood ,classics ones there is so many examples ....so many that can entertain and reborn quake 2! 	Have to say that - the invitational leagues was the most succesfully at all.This is the pill for the most of the great ppl to comeback even for a while,short league,money amount and a lot of spectators (WARNING:no trolololS like Delita invited! ) We the quakers must gain some sponsors to make this happen.The admins must spam all forums for gamers to show them that community is still a live,the quake 2 will be resurected very fast i believe. :ql: Edited: 2012-04-24 14:18

	It's like this... if you keep pushing people now, they won't come back in the Autumn. If you just give people a breather then there is a lot higher possibility that nostalgia will kick in and Quake 2 will pick up again in Autumn.

	Take my advice. It'll take time but it's the only chance Quake 2 has. Constantly pestering players to play their matches will only become a mental burden to them and they will want to play Quake 2 or be around the community even less. Think of this as a Quake 2 cardiac arrest and it requires a burst of energy and a slight massage to be revived...

	I suppose league needs a suggestion box And Apkis, league needs more players like you who schedules games, play games on time, and uploads demos. Sofiene, Playoffs already are late more than 3 weeks and you saying players need more time? You think that will change anything? If player cares he will come and from time to time and check news, check email, do something. Or should admins go and begging every single player if they could be so kind and play a game per week? And if you would take your time and read the rules you would understand that in Edge and EDL games are forced ONLY when both players post comments about when they can play, but still dont agree on time and dont play, only then game is forced. Also forcing wont give any result that are different from now, players will get a w/o forcing or not, because they dont have time or interest in playing. And thats just my opinion. I dont see any solution, someone suggests longer league, someone suggests shorter. In the end it seems there should be just a ladder system, that would keep scores all year round. You play whenever you want with whom ever you want. Cause now noone is going to chase players. I hope we can finish this season as smoothly as possible. Edited: 2012-04-24 10:02

	to be honest,this is the worst play-offs ever,all i see in the groupes is minus points,cant you wait for some players or force a game or two per-week ? ( purri,dm and others are out but i think they will maybe have time to play). this is just my opinion.

It's the responsibility of the PLAYERS to play their matches, and it's the PLAYERS* responsibility to contact and schedule matches with people. You can't just wait and wait and wait and expect to win by walkover. That's just lame.
