As you almost all suspected, we have an unknown player in the league who is doing really well so far. After little investigation, we checked some IPs and found out that flag

obsi is actually flag

obsi himself confessed later today, that he didn't want to be recognized, so he used different nickname. After some discussion among the head admins, we decided to keep him, switch to his real account and give him public warning, that if he will misbehave towards the rules in the future again, he _will_ be punished by kick (or even ban) from the league. Let this be also a warning to everyone, who is not aware of the rules, or will think about breaking them

Edit 08.11: After discussion between the admins we came into a decision that the fairest thing for the players who played their games against UMD when he was faking, is to have a chance to re-play the games. This means that if they are not interested to re-play, then the original score will remain. UMD has accepted this decision and is ready to re-play if asked to.

	My thoughts: I think the faking is lame, but the worst part is that by signing up with a fakenick he fucks up the groups. Admins tries to spread out the strong players equally so the best ones will advance, but if one of them is faking then another good player will be robbed of his playoff ticket as only one from each group advance. Because of that i think kicking him would be the only fair thing to do here, since now the faking liar is going to playoffs while the honest players are not. 	kabysdoh: you are really right at that point, but there is also the opposite one, when someone is playing against some good player, who is faking and he can win, because he didn't prepare himself to loose against the "pro" player. I even go further and will propose some kind of anonimous fun league where the nicks would be published in the end. (this can be easy done with some php implementing some hash function and then the backward funtion, where as only the admins may know who are the players but they should remain silent ) karim: maybe purri isn't playing this league exactly because of the peoples knowing him and having expectations from him, don't you think?!

	I find it really dumb not to let people play with anonimous accounts, as fas as noone plays with 10 accounts, and that case can be ckeched by the IPs. I find it really derpessing that everyone knows everyone and almost no surprises come out ...

	And Alexyenov, kick/ban is not good cause he is skilled player and the scene need skilled players? i dont think thats the reason he dont get kick banned, and i dont think the admins would give a fuck if it would be me or damiah in the situation, the reason is cause its not a big enough rule break to kick/ban and since its his first rule break.

	He shouldn't have been in the same group as optimizer is. Shame on uni that he had to fake. In the optimizer side I would play the same as he did. When I'm playing vs a nick lamer then I don't take the game so serious, and I'm very pissed of every opponents hit made on me and in the end I lose all of my nervs! But if the opponent is skilled and with real nick then I play the game relaxed cos I know who he is and how is it like. I just hope for the replayed games, because the scores would have been different!

	I agree with Optimizer and Wision in this question. Even if they will lose again (Opti and Cel) ... rematch is only one right method in this situation (if Optimizer and ceLer wants of course) kick/ban is not good NOW... Because we need strong players and UMD is strong player... And... Best method for EDL#8 signups consist in restriction of registration "unknown" or "inactive" player, if someone from admins or players doesn't validate him. 	One would ask yourself why he decided to step out with his realnick soon as he had qualified from the group. Would he have done the same if he would have failed? Probably not. So why did he fake, he didnt want to be recognized he said and by that being able to play without pressure, knowning that if he screw this up like last season, noone would know it was him, this also gives him an advantage towards his opponents. Sure its important, and with the biggest interest to make the most skilled player advance to the groupstage, but what would be more important than running a league where the players accept the rules and practice fair play. Im not saying that I would have won if I knew who I was faceing, but its in my deepest interest to know that my opponents puts fair play first and not trying to screw me around while playing him. Whether he should replay his games or not, thats something for the admins to decide, but I think it would be the most fair thing to do towards the other players in his group, yet Im not interested in playing him again as I feel he cant be trusted anymore, but you should ask the rest of the guys in his group. If he needs to replay his games, you can replace me with some other player, as it seems my comeback to the 1on1 scene wasnt ment to be. Edited: 2008-11-07 10:16

	{42A}SERj, it would be intresting league if all the players were signed in as player1, player2 etc so everyone could guess who is who, but this is edl and not nubleague. It doesn't matter if umd has ever played optimizer or luxor before. Both of them would play a lot differently vs nick umd than someone named obsi. And like optimizer said in irc, he wouldn't have played "obsi" this early at all if he knew who he was.

	1. When you're in a duel tournament, you're supposed to play at the same skill level, despite your opponent. In both cases, you must put all of your effort into this, especially in the cases where there is an unknown player, who might turn out to be quite a surprise (just like in this case). 2. HOWEVER, the qualification brackets are made manually, meaning the highly seeded (potentially qualifying) players are put into different groups. There is no point in putting all of the skilled players into one bracket to make group stage by far less interesting. In light of this knowledge, UMD _spoiled_ the layout. In terms of his real nickname, he might have been placed into a different group, to avoid meeting Optimizer and Celer beforehand. Admin's decision is final and, in my opinion, he was given a public warning only due to the idea that his group was not essential in a matter of qualifying potentials.

	I agree that matches should be replayed. I think it's important to know who you are playing against cause your style would be different depending on opponent. If i were playing known player that i know is skilled i would go inte the game with a different attitude then if im playing a player never heard of, therefor probably has low skill.
