Invitational tournament.2009-10-02 07:37 | wision
Along with EDL #8, we will host on this site one-day invitational tournament for 8 players from all over Europe. Players will be divided in two groups, where players will play each other and two top players will advance to double elimination playoffs. Rules are almost the same as in EDL while playoff is played in double elimination BO3 matches and grand final will be BO5. The map pool is: q2dm1, q2rdm2, q2duel5, ztn2dm2 and ptrip. The tournament will start on 18th of October (sunday) at 13:00 CET. In case of more donations, the prizes given away will of course get higher, so if you are willing to donate for the prizes, feel free to contact me (wision), syanid or cheimera. The list of invited players will be announced soon.

And ofc we want to have players from as many different nations as possible. But then again, who wants to see rape games? We do want to have as high quality as possible in the games aswell. One more thing that limits the player list alot.

Anyway, we are doing our best to make this as good as it can be atm.

inv league is not supposed to be EDL, so it doesn't have to be like EDL. Maps chosen were top 3 from previous EDL season, added with d5 which is really intense and full of action, and with ztn2 which is one of, if not the most tactical map out there.

Reason for less maps in inv is that we're trying to the quality of games as good as possible. Top players + few maps which everyone knows and hopefully also practices, should equal to good games.

ps. I'm not participating in inv.
