The final2010-03-14 13:46 | wision
Another year has passed since the last EDL finals, so I believe you are very tempted to see yet another awesome match between two duel masters. In the final we will see last year winner and title defender flag PURRI facing well known Finnish dueller flag Syanid. These two players already met together in EDL finals before. Not many newcomers will remember this because it happened six years ago in EDL #1. Their last meeting turned into victory for flag PURRI and leaving flag Syanid to take 2nd place. This was also first out of two times when flag Syanid reached EDL finals, but unluckily for him he didn't win either of them. Second time he met flag Damiah two seasons ago in EDL #6. But let's drop the history class and focus on present. During the group stage in this season, flag PURRI showed that he is still looking strong by winning all his matches and losing just one map against flag goat which was aeroq2 while flag goat had twice as lower ping as flag PURRI and it was still early stage of the league so we could assume that flag PURRI wasn't warmed up for this season yet. But for sure it was deserved victory for flag goat. During playoffs he didn't meet any strong looking player and lost only one map against flag sheFF which was q2rdm2. On the other hand we have flag Syanid who won all his group stage matches with one sided victory 2:0 and not leaving a single point to his oponents. During playoffs stage he mostly met strong looking players like flag AiD, flag Assasin and flag nopek. His first two oponents lost by one sided 0:3 score until he met quite new polish dueller flag nopek who was able to take a map from their playoff match.

So what do we have here? Two scandinavian duel monsters in EDL finals, who are more than eager to take the victory on their side. This should ensure that we will see another tense final and let's hope to see a five mapper with many overtimes!

For third place will fight flag gerppa and flag nopek.

da-be-da... purri is the lucker (again) to be hometeam (happened last time in edl too). so his 2 maps will certainly be played. Purri would be stupid if he didn't pick dm1 vs syanid, which always happens when he plays vs Syanid. He know Sya doesn't like dm1 and he has never lost vs sya there on that map. But anyway interesting final, since provi and damiah quit EDL.

normally its 50/50

im not sure about this B1ackX,still PURRI looked very impressive in his previous matches, actually in all of his games emo and syanid seems to struggle in his last match vs nopek,i was watching gtv and purri sez during first rdm2 "nopek is good, syanid looks like dont know what to do",ptrip was also close match, but maybe syanid dint practice for this game.i also think PURRI would win,but my gut feeling tells me syanid will find a way to win this game and take his first gold medal.

im really curious about the map choices.
purri - ptrip,duel5?
syanid - duel1,rdm2?
i just hope to see five maps :p

no, sadly its not going to be interesting.

2 possible versions:

1. Purri taking game seriously - raping syanid 3:0
2. Purri playing "run and shoot" - still 3:0

It sucks, that Damiah decided to ruin EDL8 final emo
