EDL Team Captain: IsBjorn PLD Captain: David
Rules:
CONCLUSION 2.9.2011 ============================== The EAP tournament is completed. It took a great while longer than planned, and several players were replaced in order for it to move forward at all. Nevertheless, it reached completion, which is a success in itself.
Congratulations to the PLD team for winning, and a huge thank you to all players for giving a great performance!
UPDATE 23.8.2011 ============================== Due to the fact that Cs3 has been unaccounted for since about two months back, and that he hasn't responded to my emails, I have decided to remove him from the tournament.
More info: Cs3 by forfeit
I asked team captain David to pick a replacement, but he rather had me do it instead. To help things go as fast as possible from now on, considering we're closing in on the upcoming season, there will be no challenges for this spot in the competition, and neither will there be any new pairing.
rul has accepted the invitation, and he will now face Covell.
UPDATE 15.7.2011 ============================== Covell has accepted the invitation, and no challenges have been made against him. Pairing of the remaining players will take place in the following days.
CURRENT INFO 3.7.2011 ============================== As you might have noticed, I, Welkin, have taken over the admin tasks in this tournament. Since Newash announced that he would not be able to finish it on his own, I simply could not bring myself to let this tournament wither and die. When new and fresh ideas like this one is brought to the community, it is important for us enthusiasts to show our support and sometimes offer some help.
For the past two weeks I have hunted down most of the players in the remaining games, and urged them to schedule and play. However, this was not entirely a successful quest. Purri decided to leave the tournament, and take a break instead. Assasin and Aid was nowhere to be found. Therefor, after having talked it through with Newash and both team captains, I decided to kick these two players out.
More info: Assasin by forfeit AiD by forfeit PURRI by forfeit
This leaves both teams with a deficiency of combatants. Newash, David and IsBjorn did not object to my proposal to just add one more player to the EDL team, and by that shortening the length of this tournament by one game.
Neither did they object to reoffering Covell the last spot, being that it was rightfully his and that he was forced to decline because of an arm injury at the time. If Covell does not step up to the plate, we will move on to the results in that was carried out in March, when filling this vacant position.
This means that I hereby ask Covell and all players next in line to report whether or not they wish to participate. This is done by a comment to this post. Deadline is Friday, July 8th, 20.00 CET. The announcement will follow shortly after.
The duration of the weekend will then be given for challenges, just like the initial stages of the tournament. Any non-Polish European may challenge this player-to-be-announced. It is expected of this player to be online and available reasonably much from Friday night through Sunday night. If accusations of ducking challenges are made, in one way or another, the player's participation may be compromised.
The recommended (and "legally" valid) way of sending a notification of a challenge, is in a comment to this post.
If a challenger is victorious, then another few days will be added for challenges to be made out against him. A player can only challenge once per EAP edition.
After this phase, the remaining four players will be paired up and the tournament will be completed.
CURRENT INFO 28.4.2011 ============================== EDL filled their team with Gerdt and Pogo, welcome! And here we are now with beautiful pairs of noble Players. This interesting layout makes me anxious awaiting your comments and predictions. Remember that all 5 maps will be played in every Game and there is 5 points to collect in every game. How this 40 point will be dealed between teams? I hope that as equal as possible. Then it will be said by itself that this event was worth to prepare, comment, spec and take a part, no matter if Europe or Poland will win.
Timetable: Games: Wednesday, May 4th - Sunday, May 15th Schedule deadline: Sunday, May 8th
Players! Set the date of the game with your opponent and inform the scene and admins on irc, here in comment or via msngr ( biah, newash, IsBjorn, David). Feel quite obligated to schedule your games from on wednesday to sunday next week (4-8 of May) or on week later (9-15 of May). Games that want be scheduled till 8th of May will be forced on that next week. Lets avoid this!
We are engaging TastyCast and AlexJ streams to provide to you both russian and english leanguage comentary coverage. Players: be told, that TastyCast works only during weekends.
Thanks to IsBjorn and David for operative pairing. | |
