The league has now officially started! Get your games going! Click in the menu to the left, in order to see what opponents are coming up.

Remember
1) the scheduling routine, mentioned in section 3.2 in the ,
2) to always record demos of all your games,
3) to vote webconfig edl on OpenTDM servers.

The new demo site will be made public within a matter of days. A news post will explain how it works. Until then you don't need to provide the demos. Just keep them until you get an email asking you to upload.

We haven't announced the warnings limit yet. This will be done shortly, hopefully tomorrow (Monday).

The seeding was done by the Crew, with some input from flag

stigmata and a few other individuals who were only asked about certain players.

	How can someone say he is too good for his Div even without trying to play? Its like saying that I dont like oranges even though I haven even tasted one. You have to prove you are good enough not by talking but by doing.

	Arguments as to why the four demos you have provided is not reason enough for you to be seeded into division 1: Four friendly/unofficial games on the same map versus the same opponent on the same day, where none of the games were actually finished (two were even aborted after the 1st minute). The opponent has lately (~1-2 yrs) made a reputation for himself to play a quite unstable game, resulting in outcomes of a mixed nature (especially in friendly games). In the 1st game you're winning by 7-5 when the game stops at ~6 minutes, and in the 2nd game you're losing by 5-9 when the game stops at ~4 mins. It is also unknown if more games were played. 	1) I knew you would pull the whole 'tournament - league' comment. However, you fail to realise one thing. Not only are they practically the same thing, it's just a totally irrelevant comment to begin with. 2) I don't have the time, motivation or less want to run my own league/tournament. But what I do want, is for you to run this league properly. Why would running another league be any point anyway when people hardly have time for EDL to begin with. You need to match the supply to the demand Welkin. 3) Leagues have little to do with the love of the game. However, a poorly run league will corrupt the game.

	Delita: 1) this is a league, not a tournament, so if players are only interested in tournaments, perhaps they should have reconsidered signing up for a league. 2) feel free to publish your own proposal of seedings, and let's see what people think about it. not that it would be fair to compare the number of complaints with that of the actual EDL seedings, since people care about that. like norman already mentioned; why don't you go launch your own tournament and have it the way you like it? maybe you'll drive the EDL out of the market, and everything will finally be ideal in the q2 scene - the game you claim to care about and love so much. seems it'll be all unicorns and rainbows then.

	@gipsy & careem lol guys u serious? You werent even active since last season and you now what, demand to be in the top division? Even if you would beat 80% of the div1 careem, after last year quitting you wouldnt deserve to be in there. It's also about your appearance and activity. Anyone can agree that we want the greatest competition in top divisions so It is also really important to not have many dropouts there. (of course its often unpredictable but we try to avoid it as much as we can) And about putting Welkin in div1. This of course is not his personal choice. What is more, I can assure you that he wanted to be in div 2 instead of 1. We decided it would be the best call for now. I think most people who were active for last 2 years can agree with that seed. @Delita: you're to afraid to play div 3 guys public games, so no need to discuss that. edit: Delita: noone stops you from running your own league/cup. I can tell you that u don't need many things to make it happen since I organised 2 tdm draft tournaments. Also i believe you would find some1 to help you (well I actually dont believe that but it sounds better). So you are free to provide us new fresh 100% skill reliable tournament. 	OK well... shall I rain on your parade. For a start, I suggested where a lot of players should have been this season which was a lot more accurate than your suggestions simply because I'm just a more skilled and experienced player. SO... I see the ability and 'real time' level of a player a lot better than you do. Result: My word counts. This is now countered by the fact that a lot of people have already complained about there group positioning, not just on EDL website, but also people in private. Secondly, you formulated a point system in the EDL which may over all give players the chance to play more games but is really inefficient in terms of time and motivation. I don't know if you realise this but at the moment a lot of people don't want to play EDL simply because they just don't want to commit to a tournament that will drag out for months... and it will drag out for months (not to mention the mass W/O's). In relation people won't find much enthusiasm to practice because they expect to win on maps that few people will know to gain the easy few points. This is why, as I already mentioned a week or two ago, fewer and older maps are more ideal for duel tournaments. If you would have made an elimination tournament with a loser bracket to give players the chance to get back in to the winner bracket, the tournament would have been a lot more economical in terms of time which means players only have to commit a small amount of time for games and not have to wait around for weeks or even months to get games played. Not only that but it would give people a lot more inspiration to practice. No one wants to get knocked out early or by someone who is seen as a weaker player and this makes people put some more time in to practice so they can perform well in each game. 	I play division 1 players all the time... why arnt I in division 1? A lot of contradictory and screwed up logic in this EDL so far.

	Gipsy: Excellent question. Ask the other admins who seeded me into div1. Might have something to do with the fact that I won div3 with quite good margins, at the same time as most of my old div3 opponents have now moved up to div2. Could also be that the other crew members believe in me after having seen me play many div1 players (both officially and unofficially), as well as the more historic achievements of mine. Add to that how I've been active during the past 1,5 yrs, and let's not forget that I'm quite likely the most bottom player in div1 too. I'm speculating here.. 	I wanted to play with the best players not randoms... previous month I won most of div1 players... I would like to give a shot in div1, div2 will be just zzz, besides I think div2 have few stronger players than div1 have... sorry for whine...

	I haven't been playing that much 1v1/TDM, so there's not much motivation for me at the moment. I'm fine with div3, but if I practice a lot and start getting a little more motivated, I think I could make low-mid div2.

	Been a fan of EDLs for many, many years. Great to see thoughful deliberation go into seeding(finally). I know this thread will quickly fill up with everybody's "two cents," so here's mine: I think a few players have earned division graduation; but more importantly they crave and need hostile competition to push their skill level even further. Great job with Stigmata; IF you decide to bump G1psy to Div1(which I recommend), then push FaderJock0 up to Div2. Call me crazy, but I think these two players relish tough adversity.

	Gipsy: How about using the feeling of being underrated for motivation? Prove us all wrong by outplaying your opponents. Niggy: Yes, you are looking that strong, and you did quite well last season, reaching the semi finals. You've probably already noticed that you're not by far the only div3 player from last year that has now ended up in div2. You're welcome. stigy: The two groups in division 1 are matched skillwise, so even if it was possible, which it's not, moving optimus from one group to the other wouldn't change a thing, if the reason is to get it easier. Note to all who seems to believe the A groups are a "division" higher than the B groups; they're not.

	actualy opt1mus asked pick him to div2. if i understand correctly, this year div1 and div2 was mixed by admins. in edl 10 people said what div1 and div2 almost equal, except few players. i thinks groups is pretty nice, but my opinion what opt1mus should play div1 group b, coz he realy not so active now. if its possible please pick him into div1 b. i promise him Edited: 2012-10-01 07:40
