The bigger picture for a second: Anybody who has followed Purri in q2 and particularly now in QL(esreality, etc.) knows one important thing about him -- he promotes and encourages quake leagueplay. Whatever q2 shape Purri is in right now is pretty irrelevant; Just BEING in EDL10 promotes and encourages other players to compete. [Equally Dami, Assasin, Ibo(yes him too!) and Odium lend their prestige too].
About David: whenever he plays, he's a real tribute to Purri. Look at his v3 tdm play on lesser maps like dm8, his dm3 duelstrats, his ztn...Purri's play and more importantly his demos have influenced/instructed almost every q2 player. David didn't stop there. (incoming Star Trek reference) Almost Borg-like, I'm sure he adapted other playstyles from popular Damiah, Scoob, Assasin demos too.
So I think what emerged from EDL9 is a third wave of q2 greatness. David belongs to this wave as much as Shub,Cedion and Odium(off top of my head --- shit! and Welkin oops!) belonged to the first. Purri isn't quite playing at the level of "showmatch" like Shub & Cedion were in their last matches, but hopefully, like da-be-da said, he can elevate his game one more time to put up a better fight. Purri's legacy imho is his legendary teamplay, his generosity towards newer players and overall commitment to quake. Congrats David! I hope your success encourages more players to excel as you have.
what is obvious is that David is strong player and that PURRI was rusty as hell,i did not see him play once this summer.David is in better shape atm.I hope PURRI gets motivated by the loss and get in better shape for the rest of the league,gl to him and ggs for David.
