Hello there fellow quakers.

It's time to get some update's about the league. We had many great games throughout all division's but the best is just going to come. Sadly,
not all participants gathered time to perform their best and play all of their matches. It's time to throw some of them out, and give the last chance to the other.

The EDL is coming in to final stage of playoffs. Only 2 rounds left, and these 2 weeks are also the deadline for all for their group stage matches.

This applies to all this officialy warned players to get their warning's count reduced:

padonkas - 8 warnings
odis - 10 warnings
demien - 10 warnings
aDi - 12 warnings
Hi7man - 14 warnings
wst - 8 warnings
Bobek - 12 warnings
ekzm - 14 warnings
CoVell - 10 warnings
aGent - 10 warnings
Reverence - 12 warnings
brzn - 10 warnings
nesquik - 9 warnings
Savanah - 10 warnings
LELIK - 8 warnings
neowolf - 10 warnings

7.1.3 Eight warnings result in being kicked from the league. - This means u need to get lower number of warnings then 8, otherwise you won't get into the play-offs stage.

The group stage officially ends on April 30th, after it we will go to the play-off games. To just remind you - top 8 players from each division advance further.
If there won't be 8 active players some of the matches will be turned as a wild card. Divisions 1 & 2 pairing system is 1st vs 8th, 2nd vs 7th and so on.
Division 3 & 4 will have the same although between WEST - EAST and Div4a - Div4b (1st in Div4a vs 8th in Div4b, etc.)

Just wanted to remind you about the special feature this season which are the cash prizes.

I don't think you can compare a Polish quake league to the EDL. Notice a lot of the Polish people (at least the ones who are active) in their groups have played a lot of their matches. The Polish scene is just more determined. I'm just surprised by the huge number of people who played a ton of maps at the start and then just decided they didn't care about it and stopped playing altogether, even though I see those people all the time on IRC, they don't arrange their matches. In my opinion, admins should occasionally remind everyone to play their matches in PM, just to assure them that Winter is over. On the topic of demos, I know it's good to have demos of tons of different people, and a good way to make sure people aren't cheating; but be realistic... there probably aren't going to be a lot of people who would want to watch a one-sided div4/3 match. If it was truly a good, very close match with a little bit of neat kills mixed in, then I wouldn't object to uploading them; otherwise there are tons of people with a lot of warnings they don't deserve just because they forget to type "record". 	thaigo: No, not really. The person in charge of the prizes in EQ2L is Gravgon, but he dumped it on me. That sort of makes me in charge, but you already knew that and just felt like being a dick about it. I'm in charge of the payouts in EDL, and for those I already have all the funds, which is not the case for EQ2L.

	michaq, you dont need to follow schedule "to a word" you can play all your games in 2 weeks or play some, have a months break and continue. Same as in plq2. Same was in the beginning of this EDL, lots of games in the beginning and nothing now. I played 80% of my games in 2 first weeks and few months free. The problem is not schedule, forcing games. Its players attitudes. If he doesnt give rats ass about a game per weeks then no one can help here. You can make rounds longer or shorter, doubt it will change anything. TeiOchi - comments left now when game was "played" wont reduce number of warnings. Else Anyone who wakes up from winter hibernation can leave 20 comments in games that were supposed to be played months ago The only way to reduce warnings is either play the games you got warnings for or upload demos, if you have them missing. Welkin will update the warnings record on q2scene and there you will be able to see how much and when you got those warnings for. And if you would have checked your game vs neowolf you would see that you won by w/o (3 points for you) and all screens are up. But I think I forgot to remove your warnings and I apologize for that. That was my fault. You have 6 warnings now, and I will tell (if he wont see it himself) norman to edit you out of this news post too Also it might be that there will be more players kicked when welkin will see the list too. If my 2 warnings are counted from the match vs. neowolf, well we "played" it (but he left the games) so either the 2 warnings should be gone, or down-sized to one, which means 6+1 warnings = 7 warnings, not 8! please correct.... still, if one wanna reduce the warnings, will the comment section in scheduled matches still count? like you have to write and say when u can play in those matches (even if they already has been played = in result of w/o's).... because it could be really hard to reach ppl. this system will at least guarantee the matches with w/o's will be downsized or even removed if they dont show up. fairest to both parts. If i dont get a logical answer in all this u might as well remove me from league. This should be still handled fairly. And tbh, i didsnt think i had that many warnings, why would double w/o give 2 warnings each?? I think it was only 1 warning for each in the past? That was more logical... Well plz lmk.

	I completely agree with APKIS. The shorter terms, the less w/o's and more games played. Example? PLQ2 first round. Two games in one week for almost a month and a half, lot of matches and no w / o. Clans were warmed and hungry for fragging. The second round, one game for one week with a monthly break and 2nd revenge round. The result? In the first phase a couple of w/o's in second a lot of w/o's and few clans left league. Quake 2 is a fast internet game, this is not football where you have one year to play the whole season. We do not need sports fields, we do not need to drive to the stadiums. Just 40-60 minutes in one evening. The faster the league, the more fun.

	Apkis, EDL's one round is 2 weeks and most players do not manage to play their games during that time. Do you think if you give them less time it will do any good? Basshunter, muerte is not active, seems like he is interested just in certain games. Most active player in last 2 weeks is maybe Purri. If you wont count Poles and Russians.

	Next edl which hardly will appear, make groupstages for 1 year to play all games. Like 1 game in 1 month. And in the end of year announce the winner of edl who will be the player with least warnings! One day tournaments should be our future. I hope polish scene will give us some of them anyday and Welkin will do this like every Sunday aswell!

	Don't know who is responsible for Euroq2l prizes, but I believe Welkin is the guy who will manage the prizes after the games in EDL.

	Are these prizes handled by the same person(noone) as in Euroq2l? Most active person in q2 has to be muerte. 5 minutes at Wizards server yesterday with gerppa and "muerte connected"
