	Well I can counter all them with an argument. Bashing is unavoidable as it 'IS' arguing without the 'abuse'. Maybe you should watch some politics, you'll understand. I can write very constructive arguments because I'm very adept at Literal, Philosophocal, and Psychological terms. However, it's easier said than done. Writing a compelling argument would take a lot of time and research which I don't have. The majority of people would either avoid reading it due to ignorance or laziness, they would try and argue against it with unconstructed arguments which would be like fly swatting, and the chances are it wouldn't change a thing, making it a waste of time. The 1998 card, as you call it, is actuallly VERY important in terms of experience, and I'm not just talking about game experience. By this term I mean I have had the time to watch the community evolve, the game styles evolve, map input and output take place, and clans and players come and go. Over all, I am able to calculate how maps would function in terms of each type of play. i.e. 1v1, team, etc. I could sit and write thousands of words on each map scrutinizing each little section to tell you why it is a good duel map, and when it is a bad duel map, and same thing for TDM. And the definition of insanity isn't doing stuff over and over again, that's ridiculous and I believe you took it from FarCry 3. This is where the nail hits: I don't change my stand point, or my views towards Quake 2, because I know I'm right about pretty much most things in terms of Quake 2. I can write a fat compelling argument that pretty much proves it. If I really wanted, I could quite easily play a map like ptrip over and over again, in return, being extremely good at it. Skill and Experience (Practice) are two seperate things. On a final note: If people didn't listen to what I have to say, not only do I believe they are ignorant and naive, but also not had a shred of quality education in their lives. 	If you think(and apparently you fervently believe) you have something worth saying and TRULY want people to listen, then here's a few communication tips: Reduce the number of ad hominems in your post Avoid bashing; instead be constructive Construct arguments with premises and then maybe a conclusion might drop out! Give the "I've seen it all and played since 1998" card a break. You've played it too many times and to what effect? None. Respect is earned not begged for. Finally, hate to pop your balloon but there are AMAZING dm2 duel demos out there; Doomhammer, Shub, Purri v. Syanid all come to mind. imo, dm1-dm8 all released at the same time...if dueling on dm2 isn't your cup 'o tea, then please refrain from evangelizing on how bad you think it is. Any converts? Post names. Finally, definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again with the same result. Sound familiar? If q2 is in such a sad state as you contend, then why add such a boarishly, negative, pessimistic voice to the choir of those keeping it alive?? p.s. if you completely ignore any or all of these suggestions, then ranting is your solitary true goal. 	It's not hard to please me, you just need to realise that Quake 2 is in a poor state these days and I'm trying to bring back a little quality and pride to it. The most ethical and best way to approach the situation was to postpone the final match untill I could fix the textures AND wait till my internet connection was more stable. I don't know if you remembered me mentioning that I had a ton of packet loss all the way through DM1 and Koldduel1. The first round week was not yet over, so the fair and ethical approach would have been to postpone the 3rd game untill the circumstances were fair. It seems these days people don't like to play a fair game though. People don't realise that even though a lot of people dislike my methods or attitude... I am still a very fair person. I always like to play under fair circumstances, I never insulted Rev or anyone else in the game 'untill' I was insulted first. (Infact only an admin and the 2 players should be allowed on the server to begin with). I always listen to other peoples opinions, even though they are far more inexperienced than my own. You people think I'm actually like this but I'm not, you just reap what you sow. You give me shit, expect to recieve it in return. On a extra note, if you reversed the situation, I would have refused to play Rev untill he had the textures. EDL only proves itself to be so fake. Edited: 2011-10-07 12:51

	I can say that it seems hard to please you mirr, i dont know in what different way (admins (isbj0rn) should treat you, isbjorn tried to help you out with textures on last map and the game was delayed around 1 hour from 2nd to 3rd map. How hard can it be to play 3 maps without all this problems.

I don't care about losing to Rev, I knew I would lose a lot of these ridiculous maps when I entered, because 1. I don't play them, and 2. I don't like them. My comment was pointed at the poor way in which the league is run and the amount of fucking childish cunts in Quake 2 that won't let you play a fuckin game in peace. And people ask why I don't play in the EDL. That's the reason.

	I never had much respect for the EDL to begin with but now after witnessing the bullshit that was unvailed during those games, my respect for it hit rock bottom. 90% of the spectators, including the admins, should be fucking ashamed of yourselves the way you not only run a duel league unethically, but also the way you treat players is sad and childish. You people have really proven to be the CANCER of Quake 2.
