Warnings limits have now been announced. They are as follows:
Div 1 A - 8
Div 1 B - 7
Div 2 A - 9
Div 2 B - 8

The league has now officially started! Get your games going! Click in the menu to the left, in order to see what opponents are coming up.
Remember
1) the scheduling routine, mentioned in section 3.2 in the ,
2) to always record demos of all your games,
3) to vote webconfig edl on OpenTDM servers.
The new demo site will be made public within a matter of days. A news post will explain how it works. Until then you don't need to provide the demos. Just keep them until you get an email asking you to upload.
We haven't announced the warnings limit yet. This will be done shortly, hopefully tomorrow (Monday).
The seeding was done by the Crew, with some input from  stigmata and a few other individuals who were only asked about certain players. |

1) Demo Uploading Site
We're very sad to say that the new demo site for this season is being delayed. mobius is helping us develop it, and he needs alittle more time. Hopefully we'll be able to introduce it before the end of October.
Meanwhile, the players shall send their demos to the EDL email (one zip/rar file per match, containing all maps), and we'll make them available on some sort of webspace where they're easily browsable and downloadable. The URL to said webspace will be announced shortly.
We chose not to go back to old Demosquad even for this short period, because we have promised not to burden the players with the hassle that uploading to DS means. Email is easier and less time consuming for you.
2) Rules
The forum thread for rule suggestions and feedback has now been closed. There were a couple of good ideas, which we discussed among the Crew. Our response is to be found in the last post of the thread.
The rule sheet in use for the start of the season has now been published. Click "rules" in the menu to the left to access it.
3) Map Pool
The map pool vote has now been closed. This is the EDL #11 map pool:
q2dm1, q2dm2, q2dm3, ztn2dm2, ztn2dm3, ptrip, q2duel1, q2duel5, q2rdm1, q2rdm2, q2rdm7
4) Supervisors
If you've read the rule sheet, you might have noticed we have something called Supervisors this year (which replaced last season's Advisers). The EDL #11 Supervisors are:
 wision,  syanid &  quadz.
5) Red List
The first three names to be placed on the Red List have now been announced. Access the Red List by clicking "articles" in the menu to the left.
The Red List document shall contain the reason why the player is added, and what the result of it shall be. It will be updated shortly with the information it's missing.
6) Prize Money
It is now obvious that this year's prize funds for the EDL will be very small. So if you're participating for the money, you might want to reconsider. Doubt anyone is though. |

We are open for suggestions, opinions and feedback until September 22nd, 24.00 CET.
Note that just because you (the individual) would wish for something to be changed, doesn't mean it will change. We only guarantee that we will read and consider all things said in the forum thread. |

The sign ups phase is coming along splendidly, and I think most of us feel quite inspired by it! Some veterans are hanging in there (the Russian powerhouse just signed up this morning, all together and at the same time :D), and we're even blessed with a few new faces in this 15 year old game - welcome, chumbo, owzo & co! Seems we have the to thank for some of this!
Some news and information for y'all:
1) Donations
I'd like to remind you that 100% of the prize funds come from donations from people within the community. Part of the success of the league depends on these generous few!
If you feel you'd like to make a contribution, please email Welkin, or in case you just want it quickly over with, make a Paypal transaction to the same email address (that will be interpreted as an anonymous donation).
Anything counts!
2) New Players
I mentioned we have some new players among us. I'd like to publicly ask those already signed up as well as those signing up soon, to
a) remember to provide us with an active email address. If we don't have one, we can not guarantee that you receive important information from us. Email us at quake2edl at gmail dot com.
b) start hanging out on IRC, in #EDL on Quakenet (WebIRC: ). It's important for us to actually see that you take an interest in this, and at least seem to plan to go through with your commitment. :)
It's also very good for the admins to get a chance to play or at least see you play, so that the seeding may be done more accurately!
3) norman's back
norman is back as a part of the admins crew! He said he got too nostalgic after seeing the EDL powering up, and couldn't stay away a second longer. :) Welcome back! |
