The vote on which maps to include in this year's EDL, has just finished... Sort of!
It seems there's been a tie for the last map to be included through "vote 1". Both match1 and aeroq2 (q2duel1) received 19 votes.
This means: new vote! All players signed up for the league, may now vote again, for either match1 or aeroq2.

A lot of people signing up for this season's EDL - which is awesome! Some veterans are making comebacks, and we got a few new faces in the crowd.

Finally, EDL #10 is launched! I,  Welkin, have taken over as head admin after wision, and I hope that the scene will be equally satisfied with the work I am to deliver, along with my crew of admins.
I have made a few changes in the league, of which many are presented in the , and others are explained in the new for the season. It is highly recommended to read the rules!
One matter that can not be mentioned too many times, is that this season will feature prize money in all divisions! The amount of money will be disclosed at a later point.
Here's a summary of some of the most important changes:
1) SCHEDULE
Oct 3 - Dec 22: Group phase, part 1
Dec 23 - Jan 8: Christmas break
Jan 9 - Apr 29: Group phase, part 2
Apr 30 - Jun 3: Playoffs
This means that the group phase will last for 28 weeks, and the playoffs 5 weeks. This schedule will be enforced!
2) LEAGUE DETAILS
- 2 or 3 divisions & double-elimination playoffs
- prize money in every division
- 1 round = 2 weeks
- games that have not been scheduled before Wednesday in the 2nd week, will be scheduled/forced by an admin ().
- ragequitting may be punished ().
- a more clear & harsh punishment/warnings system ().
- a pretty handy match settings voting script/alias has been made. view .
3) SIGN UPS
- sign ups deadline is September 25th, 24.00 CET (midnight before Monday). sign up .
- all registered players must provide an admin with their email address (). preferably by emailing quake2edl at gmail dot com.
4) DEMOS & SCREENSHOTS
This is a big change, and it is very important to follow. This is the exact excerpt from the :
"3.4.1 All players are forced to publish their POV demos, meaning their own recorded point of view (no spectator demos are valid), from all maps played.
3.4.2 Players must upload their demos to Demosquad, within 48 hours of the scheduled starting time of the game in question. Any degree of failure to do so may result in a number of warnings, as stated in section 7.2.
3.4.3 Before 12.00 CET the day after the game, both players are expected to provide an admin either by email or IRC with screenshots of each maps final score, plus the order in which the maps were played. This as a step to lighten the work load for admins during season."
5) MAP POOL
Most players within the scene are able to vote for which maps to be included in this season's map pool . Voting deadline: Sep 23, 24.00 CET.

The EAP tournament is completed. It took a great while longer than planned, and several players were replaced in order for it to move forward at all. Nevertheless, it reached completion, which is a success in itself.
Congratulations to the PLD team for winning, and a huge thank you to all players for giving a great performance!

As the EAP duel tournament is approaching and newash has some more news for you:
Respectfull 5maps final game is a prediction of stout and beastie EAP Duel Tournament.
Three weeks of EAPDT remain to come:
This week is for Players and Captains to spot into one common strategical solution how to set up game pairs to outsmart the opponents team. The very process of the pairing will take place at Sunday 17th of April at 20:00 CET. Every Player is welcome this time, and Captains are essential. Please check rule 4 of the terms of tournament to be more close to this specyfic pariring system. The week after will be for Players to set dates of their games. And 3rd week will be the EAPDT week, the event that will close this season of Duels.
I spoke already with the majority of Players. All of them accepted invitations to represent their teams. I still need to contact with Aone.
Also every Player already choose the captain in confidential voting. I still need some votes to coplete the poll from: Aone,  Aid, Cs3, nope.
Right after collecting sufficient number of votes the information will be published.

We will be working on proper cover and exact timetable.

Today (tuesday) first game of EAPDT will take place. Due to circumstances wich do not allow norman to play his game after two weeks and thanks to good will of IsBjorn these two gentelman will skirmish to gain first points for their team.
I cant see Aid from a long time. I will be glad if some of You could invite him on irc or this site.
