Cheaters & Anticheat policy

We are sad to give you yet another bad news for this league: During the match between flag

xeno and

FF, the player RYDEL has been caught cheating.

After looking more into it, we discovered that RYDEL and several of his teammates had already been caught cheating in another league (PLQ2).

Considering this and the fact that FF have caused many problems in this league in the past, we decided to give the following sanctions:

- The player flag

RYDEL is permanently banned from EUROQ2L for the reason explained above.
- The player flag

Pops is permanently banned from EUROQ2L in application of our new anticheat policy (*) and flag

Festival is banned for the same reason and also for covering his teammate during the investigation.
- The result of the match flag

xeno vs.

FF is turned into a w/o in favour of xeno.
- Clan FF is permanently banned from EUROQ2L.

Changes in anticheat policy:

- If a player of EUROQ2L is/has been sanctioned for cheating in any other Quake2 league, he will automatically be sanctioned in EUROQ2L too. The sanction can be lifted if the player can prove he was not guilty.
- The use of the client APRQ2 is now forbidden in EUROQ2L.

These changes are added to the rules and are effective immediately.

	Just from observers pov: Gravgon put it well. Think of Q2 community as a bunch of friends, they do not wish for other people to spoil the fun they're having and they do things to ensure that. Be it banning the clients, which seem fishy or banning players. As simple as that.

	Imo the same rule should apply in all leagues, if you cheat = bann, official or public. Simple as that.

	the problem here is that the line with cheating in another league is probably not that clear as it should be and it will be discussed most likely.. no need to spam here pops anyway.. the rule in plq2 is that if you cheat, you get banned.. it doesn't matter if it's in the league or in some public game (which you already did many times) now you can only wait for admins to gather and talk again.. that might take some time, which you have plenty of until next season

	MY PM TO Gravgon WITH [NO RESPONSE] SO FAR (SENT LONG TIME AGO): You didn't bother to ask them why I was banned. Your new policy doesn't apply to my cause casue I wasn't catch cheating in another league. Pio and the rest of their crew are a fraudulent and have never proof that I was cheating in any match. All they did was wait till plq2 is over and then ban me for anticheat log that wasnt in plq2, not even at that time when league was active but before. So when league is over got banned for 8 months old log. I've explained this already... they don't listen. Pio isn't even interested in responding. He even spoke in one comment said that they are banning people for log made since september '09 - and that dont applys to me. But forget about it. They don't even respect thir own rules. 	Let me get this straight to you Pops, there is no court where you can sue us for banning you. The only trial we'll get will be next season when players decide to sign up or not sign up to this league. There is no big authority above us that decided to give us "power" to run this league. It's just 5 people who try to do their best to take the right decisions to have a fair league for their fellow q2 players. It's just that. If the players think we took a wrong decision when we banned you, they'll be free to not sign up next season. We're not running a state, just a gaming league. So you can quote as many law-related latin proverbs as you want, they don't apply to this. But since you like to compare with real life regulations, let's say that cheating in the gaming world is like murder in the real world. If you do it, if you try to do it even if it's just once... You get the maximum punishment. We did a big mistake in this league: we were too soft in our anticheat policy. That's why we decided to stop being blind and go more aggressive. We still let you a chance to prove that your ban in the other Q2 league was wrong. So far all you did was calling us and the plq2 admins a "fraud".

PLQ2 admins are fraudulent and they banned me for log, log that wasnt made when league was in progress but before. And then suddenly after FF won its league they started to ban people. Second of all - It really doesnt matter becouse Lex retro non agit - the law does not operate retroactively. And I'm not here defending myslef or any individual. There is no "has been caught" that applys to past ! This rule is fraudulent. Noone really sees that ? Why second point isnt applying to past ? So, let me explain: R1ch has made small change in AC policy and EVERY client which is modified is FORBIDDEN. U gonna be kicked from server if u try joining it with modified client. Cheating with memory injection is the same for each client and as long aprq2 has build in dlls within exe file its more safe then others clients. To cheat (bring old wh back to work) with r1q2 u just need to modify dll files which r just "tracking"- you can easly modify them and be unsuspicious. 	@dem changing paks, cfgs, etc. is called "customization", changing a client is called cheating. although, aprq2, r1q2, proq2 are no cheats, two of them are redundant. game client should be used only to play. and if the gameplay is the same on all of them, then why not to pick one? it's a rhetorical question btw... I know that there are things that you can easily do on aprq2 (scripting) that you cannot do on r1q2. that's why we should choose one client - to have the same gameplay for all players. btw. since you are narrow-minded, what you have proven many times in many other topics, im not going into discussion with you

	I think aprq2 shouldn't be banned before the end of the league, but after that some consistency within the domain of q2 clients would make the game better. Why should we have different Q2 clients available? It's one game so there should be only one and well protected client available... Anyway, it's just my opinion, we will c where this will lead. 	So far the APRQ2 has been the only client that was spotted being used publically to cheat on AC servers. So far we can only guess that there is either a cracked APRQ2 availible somewhere on the net or it is the easiest client to embed undetectable cheating rendereres. Untill we get some updates to Anticheat we woudl like to play it safe(er) and avoid unnecesary suspicion towards normal players. As far as we know Aprq2 hasn't become the most popular Q2 client, but for those using it, please be sure to switch to r1q2 or q2pro in case of upcoming official euroq2l match.
