Well ... as you all know it has been over for almost a month but it didn't occure to anyone to write the final news so I was basically forced to do it.
For those who missed this season and are interested in final standings here they are.
Division 1 1. play> 2. Team On-line Killers 3./4. Harry Boy Quakers / Muffzors
Division 2 1. skill zer0 2. Rebels 3./4. xeno / I am fucking amazing
Also I decided to give away some additional awards to clans and players. Those who are interested can click on more & comments ...
I will start with a promised Fairplay award to clan xeno. Clan players could have taken w/o on several occasions, however they always allowed their opponents to reschedule and play the game instead. I am not pointing that out as something extraordinary or common just for xeno, but the way it should always be! To my mind xeno managed to set a perfect example for others by bringing back the good old meaning to the word 'fairplay'.
We shall proceed with a Cheat Guevara award and it goes to clan For Fun. With an enviable consistency they are fighting against the corrupted Anticheat regime! Their demands are simple: freedom of faking and transparency to the walls. Their moto is "Admins no pasaran!". Well deserved award... Oh, and did I mention that this award comes with a permanent BAN?
Next prize is a WO Magnet Award. And this one goes to clan play>. The physics department of Euroleague Studies Univercity made a shocking discovery! A combination of purri, shugg, pogo and mobius with a smaller doses of ph, squix and optimizer produce a static field that pushes away lower skilled opponents with one end and drags wo's towards itself with the other end. The field gets stronger with every played game and reaches it's peak by Round VIII / IX then continues through first 2 rounds of playoff. Experiments showed that clan tOk has a destructive influence on the WO Static Field but it is still being studied by our team scientists.
Starting from this season of EuroQ2L we are starting a new prize award under aegis of The Nobel committee. The HBQ Award is granted to any clan that is not able to field 4 players for their semifinal game several seasons in a row. A money prize comes together with a pocket calculator, a calendar card and a replica of "The Mighty Summoning Forge" that Orlando Bloom used to message his elven fellow tribesmen on the set of Lord of The Rings. This year the award goes to it's founder - clan HBQ.
Let's continue to clan/player mixed award: The Phantom of the Opera. This prestigious prize is granted to people who have mastered the ability to vanish into thin air. The clan award winners are f7, q2r and SnG. Minor player awards go to c12 and feebl who started as main hopes for their teams but then pulled the Copperfield vanishing trick with no refund. Aone, Gerdt, Cs3 and Sensei get the deserved medium award for performing the Harry Houdini vanishing just before their clans playoff games. And the Master Award together with Aston Martin Vanish from the 007 movie goes to Cleaner for not being able to attend an All-Star for which he was the most voted player. Comparing to this not attending own clan's semifinal and final games is just forgetting to blink once before blinking again.
Continuing the masked theme we are happy to present slope with The Master of Disguise Award . Him disguising as Soulwax was so plausible that even Soulwax himself for a second thought of a long lost twin brother. So be alert, fair citizens! Slope might be lurking around disguised as someone you know or love, silent and deadly as Ronald McDonald's fart. Unfortunately the award also comes with one season ban.
The Memory Low Award goes to nopek for clinical forgetfulness to write a demo during the official match which finally resulted in a playoff game discharge. Together with the award nopek gets a pack of yellow memory stickers and a tattoo of a small cross on the back of right hand.
In cooperation with The Guinness Book of Records we are awarding DM with The 2x25 Award for the world's longest phone call during the official match. Minor thing our record breaker didn't consider were league rules, pissed off opponents and angry admins... But who cares about those when you are a holder of the Guinness record!
In recognition of true talent we decided to present The Legendary thaigo with The Anchor of The Season Award for draging the whole Wizards team from the league from which he himself resigned after being punished in another league by other admins for things he willingly did to show he didn't really much care... The prize is a quote for 150 comments in different q2scene.net topics with personal replies to each of them from Cheimera himself.
In conclusion my awards are not meant to offend or praise anyone but should give an overview of this season's key events in order to make next ones better. You are free to add your own comments and present players/clans with your own awards in this topic... | |
