We are proceeding to the PLAYOFF stage - the most fun stage of the season! Thou shalt not walkover! Thou shalt not fake! Thou shalt not cheat! Thou shalt be BO5! And whosoever shall revolt shall be in danger of the judgment...(taking my pills) ... and here are the matches of the first round with some preview!
Division I:
play> [3:0] contra
Harry Boy Quakers [3:0] CyBeR
Veni Vidi Vici [3:0] Rebels
skill zer0 [1:3] Team On-Line Killers
Division II:
Russian Power Team [3:0] We Dream
xeno [3:1] No Fear clan
I am fucking amazing [3:0] qwned
Fun Masters [2:3] Frag in 7 sec
Unfortunately for teams Rage, Only4Fun, Knights of Beer and Teioch Locan Klan they did not get a rank high enough to take part in playoffs. Every clan is awaited for the next season of euroq2l and congrats to [tLk] with a fine debute! You can read the preview if you click more & comments
Division I:
play> vs contra We are facing a scandinavian matchup here. Hope there will not be a fight over a server and we are going to see a low ping battle. Despite an unexpectedly poor performance by finish team in the groupstage it was hard not to notice they gained in skill in every next played game. I hope facing a wors possible threat in face of play> will boost up contra skillz to the max and we will see at least a close game. All players know each other for a long time and aware of what to expect. I am positive that dm6 will go in play> favour but the rest of the mappool is yet to decide. My advice to contra would be to pick dm2/dm7 ... tho dm3 might also do.
[HBQ] vs CBR Two multinational barilla-clans matchup is promissing for action. Everyone knows how dangerous are HBQ in all it's main lineup power tho noone now living never really seen HBQ main lineup and tales of it slowly fade away. However there is not even a single word about CBR main lineup in the archives. Let me then spread the word of mighty heroes DM, Revo, CoVeLL, CAREEM/padonkas/mgh/wst/xed (it's so hard to pick - they all are so cute (except CAREEM)) I hope CBR will withstand the pressure of HBQ crushing machine and we will see some serious gaming here. Let me make a guess - HBQ: dm1/dm3 - CBR: dm2/next1.
v3 vs [r] Debute of [r] in Div1, best euro-season of v3 as far as I can remember. Polish match according to nationality, but unlikely to be polish by server/ping. I don't really see any intrigue in this match as not too long ago v3 already smashed [r] to tiny peaces in plq2. You can check out the result . But unlike plq2, in euroq2l you can actually !pick! your maps. Maybe this will change the onesided rape into a sparkling flame of resistance. Dm8/dm3 from v3 and dm2/dm5 from rebels and gl to [r] as they need it much more than v3.
s0 vs tOk Despite the EU flag waving proudly next to s0 tag the match will be polish from it's roots. First question that pops up in my head - will Cleaner attend? The answer to that question may decide the fate of the game... I am not saying that s0 can't compete without it's prince and you can see proof of it , but playing with Cleaner would probably save edwin a lot of nerves. Let's say honestly that tOk is not shining as bright as they did last season but underestimating them would also be a mistake. Hard to guess the maps but certainly dm5 by tOk and dm3 by s0. Maybe dm8 and dm1?
Division II:
[rpwr] vs wD Highly overrated russians versus often underestimated poles. [rpwr] was unstoppable in group stage and long time sent to div1 for huge wins over handicaped opponents, but they have suffered dramatic squad losses and were forced to recruit fresh blood at the end of group stage. Will renewed rpwr squad be able to step over oldschool wD? Time will tell. Certainly dm2 from wD, maybe dm3? [rpwr] might have to switch from usual dm6/next1 to less favourite dm1/dm8 ... all depending on squad present.
[xeno] vs nF xeno showed up very strong this season and was really fighting for the first place in their group. Only last round matches, where they failed to gather prime squads, set them back several points behind iafa. If their stars wake up, xeno will come for the win here. nF, being quite a young team, have their own stars, tho it's hard to pick them from a looooooong list of signed up players. When it comes to battle I'd bet on 3:2(2:3) as each clan has own set of maps to operate. Prediction next1/dm8/dm3/dm5(?).
iafa. vs qwned iafa. another burito from all over europe with skillz and passion for the game. How many times I dreamt of seeing their prime together, but there was always someone missing - CoLD watching football or c12 sitting on a wifi notebook without monitor ... and Papa Bear running around trying to get 4. This season iafa. has a bucket load of experienced players to fill in for the 'primers' in case they are missing. I really can't see qwned stopping that clan in 1/4 as they barely managed to squeeze to playoffs with last minute thx to [tLk] games. Once again qwned bares it's hopes on dm2, as iafa. is ready to rape on dm1 and dm3. GL to qwned as a party in most need.
FUN.m vs f7 Fun Masters showed a pretty decent result coming 2-nd from their group. Very nice for a euro-newbie with no constant squad and mappool limited to dm1. Anyway, pick a prime, add some voice communication and this nugget will shine! Will it shine over f7? FUN.m debutants will face a real div2 mammoth who will probably try to trample their opponents on next1/dm2. However f7 are knows for their inconsistancy and might make a rape as well as easily trip over a lieing sheet of paper. Once again hoping for a close game! | |
