Hello and welcome to the first semi-final of Eq2l-5! Today we see two Q2

masters, finnish (2.0) and swedish HBQ fight eachother for the spot in the

ultimate final of the ultimate Q2 league (in your face clanbase!).

But first I must apologize for the very brief report, as I was dead-tired

during the game, having not slept in 2 days or so.

q2dm2 - HBQ's choice
First half of dm2 was really tight, after 10 minutes the score was 50:52 and

(2.0) was leading by only 2 frags. This continued for a while but in the end

HBQ took what was theirs. They held RA lift very well and Gerdt had an awesome

game.
HBQ wins 122:91

q2dm1 - 2.0's choice
I seriously doubted 2.0's chances here without some of its mainsquaders

missing, but they got off to a good start. They continued to hold a small lead

over HBQ and after 5 minutes they were leading 22:39. Just a bit before the

halftime HBQ finally gets some railguns to its arsenal and starts to catch up.

Luckily for 2.0 both Turricane and Damiah are on the roll here and 2.0 very

surprisingly beats HBQ with a solid 30+ frag lead.
2.0 wins 105:139

q2dm6 - HBQ's choice
dm6 is one of those maps, which needs some solid teamplay to work and even if

you can surprise somebody in maps like dm1, "Lava Diving Extravaganza" is a

different story. You can't believe how bad it went for 2.0. Basically they

were getting beaten around the map so hard it almost made me cry. I'm guessing

it made them cry as well, because after 10 minutes or so Damiah was still

running around with 2 frags.
"Damiah(2.0): this isnt happening :D"
At least they got some frags in the end. :)
HBQ wins 160:75

q2dm3 - 2.0's choice
Again I was surprised that 2.0 picked dm3, one of HBQ's toughest maps. It

started out well for 2.0 again, but soon HBQ took the lead. HBQ continued to

play well and it looked like it was over for 2.0. 5 minutes before the end

they we're down 118:89. Then magic started to happen. In the next two minutes

HBQ got -1 frag while 2.0 got 34 frags! Suddenly they we're leading! Very

heated battle continued. One minute before the end the score is 135:134. 30

second before the end it is 139:138! You cannot imagine how intense it got. In

the last seconds Slonken made a teamkill and 2.0 got a few crucial frags and

won!
2.0 wins 139:141

q2dm5 - Last map to survive eliminating
I really don't have any more words to comment this, go to demosquad and

download the demo. But in the end, 2.0, "forever second", lost by 1 frag in an

incredibly tight match.
HBQ wins 92:91

It was a very enjoyable match. For me, in some sense the real winner is 2.0 because they put up a really good fight against HBQ who had most of their mainsquaders around. The atmosphere of the game was very light, almost like a another group game, not the semifinal. If you don't count the dm6 it was one of the nicest clashes I've seen (altough nothing beats NDML-6 final of course).

GG everyone! Thanks for providing this kinda level of skill and attitude, thanks for keeping Q2 alive.

And who will HBQ face in the final now? More surprises to come.
