Total - 40
40 clans will be devided into two groups - 20 clans per each. The groups news will appear tomorrow morning (9-11 cet).

SURPRISE! The eq2l5 crew decided to add two new, custom maps to season mappool. Both were designed special for 4/4 playing by great American mapper - Jester (). Maps are: q2next1 aka Schizm and q2next2 aka Stress Fractures. So the league mappool looks like: q2dm1, q2dm2, q2dm3, q2dm5, q2dm6, q2dm7, q2dm8, q2next1 and q2next2 (9). There are two new maps, so rules have to be changed - there won't be maps picking before the game. Maps will be forced to every round (as it is in cb).
New map are in, so we decided also to postpone start of the league by one week - to 3rd March. The whole week is dedicated for everyone to learn those maps. I think some fresh thing are needed for our scene, but if someone thinks in other way - feel free to tell me that. If any clan decides to leave the league because the cup, im sorry about that stuff but eq2l crew think it would be nice to play on new maps - trust us.

	q2next1 sux. It looks ugly as shit first of all . Second why did someone put QUAD and YA in one place?????? Yeah we have something like that on dm3. But this time it's a bit different ->>> there is no RG on the other side of map and you don't need a jumper. q2next2 is ok, a bit weird but ok :p.

	Luq First of all, we can't have a working discussion/beta-testing with 100+ people. Everyone will have their own opinion, everyone will want something different. Jester and I made the choices what to do with these maps and we we're interested how they play out. Two clans with teamplay experience is perfect for that, but not 20 clans. Second, we can't add new maps randomly. Right now the original q2dm series is completely in one style, and we can't break that up by adding maps one by one. I know there are other good maps for teamplay, but for a league they must be in ONE STYLE, by SAME AUTHOR(S). You mentioned there are better maps than q2next-series for teamplay. Please name a few, would love to check them out. You know how much time we spent on those two maps, trying to achieve the best item placement and gameplay balance? I don't think you do. And finally, did you check out the jump demo of q2next1?

	wision i'm not too lazy i'm just curious why admins added these ones. There are many much more playable maps which could be included to maplist. I was always on YES to new things ba !especially maps! but they should be accepted by the community... 	Now this doesn't look good. - 20 clans in 1 groups is way too much, so gl with it. - adding new maps without asking what clans think? That is just stupid. Specially when you add them after sign ups. Rule number 1! make league rules and settings ready before opening sign ups! - 20 clans with huge skill difference... not good. I can only say my own opinion, but 300-40 games are just waste of time. Clans have enough problems to get 4 players to intresting games and what do you think will happends against weaker clans?

	I think we all forgot the fun of playing new maps :p We are like old employees who are too used to what they have and don't want to adapt. But learning to play new maps is always nice. For once not all team will have the exact same tactics, same positions etc.

And as for community testing, I said that two very old finnish Q2 clans did the betatesting - they liked the maps very much. KPAH: q3 maps are shit usually, we try to take somewhat newer gameplay style of q3 and create new maps based on that, rather than use shitty q3 maps

Euroq2l has been boring with always the same matches played with the same map picked by the same clans. At least this time this league brings something new. I gotta agree on one point though, I'm affraid the league can last a bit too long and lose its rythm.

	haven seen the new maps yet, but 2 groups with 20 clans?? wtf? this league wont be over before 2008. and not to mention so many boring uneven matches. it would be much better if you split it in 2 skill divisions with 2 or 3 groups each. and yes, u should check if some of those clans really exist.

We all love original q2dm maps (they are the best in the world), but these new maps are also specially designed for 4v4 and they have been ALREADY TESTED. Yes, they are different than original q2dm maps. The gameplay is more q3ish maybe. But that doesn't automatically mean they "suck".

	Railgun is quite hard to control in next2, we saw that in the pcw. It's very easily attackable but not easily defendable. Trust me, in next2 more important will be to hold YA + MH. And don't forget that next1 is the first real 4v4 map with quad+lot of other weapons that has NO RAILGUN.
