Div2 playoffs2010-03-30 10:40 | biah
Greetings every1. The group round is over and playoff pairs are made according to the placing in groups. Unfortunately many walkovers occured druring last weeks of group stare and mixed up expected positioning of clans in groups. Here is a brief report on upcoming div2 playoffs. Click comments & more to see more and comment.

Let's start from flags0 vs flagq2r. Div2a multinational leader versus Div2b last place doesn't rise a question of the winner. With Cleaner or without him s0 has all the possibilities to turn this game into a rape. Hoping for a surprise from q2r on dm1 but that's about all we can expect there.

Previous pair's winner will face the clan that will take uperhand in flagwD vs flagqwned match. The game is very promissing because both clans ranked 4 and 5 accordingly in their groups. wD might be missing true Q2 stars but has a long history in euro and polish leagues and that means experience on all standart q2 maps. qwned history doesn't shine that bright but they have already prooved themselves a worthy adversary on the most popular maps , espesually on dm2. If mato's aim will be on top wD could get in trouble.

Below those two pairs we see flagxeno vs flagkob. Betting on xeno here would be the right thing to do as they have many times prooven their skill in euroleague. However it would be ignorant not to notice that kob has grown from the previous seasons definete outsider to something more this year scoring several, unexpected for some, victories. I guess they have mirr to thank for that. My verdict - this could get interesting.

Closing the upper half of the table we have flagFF vs flagTitanium. Polish troublemakers are in definete advantage here. Overal skilled and well-aimed polacks know how to make their opponents suffer on all maps, except maybe next1, while finns rely mostly on their favourite dm2. In my oppinion Titanuim has a chance in this game if grandpa karpo (also refered to as Lemminkaine in ancient runes of "Kalevala") brings his mighty bow to the battlefield.

The opening pair on the lower bracket is flagRebels vs flagGOA. Rebels confidently finished the groupstare first showing weakness only in the face of wD tho I can't say their trip to glory was painless. On the other hand GOA's positioning last in their group might be decieving for many. Polish clans will most probably play on a local server where ping won't be an issue. Under these circumstances the game could get very intense despite the polarity of placing in groups. Expecting to see some rarely played maps like maybe dm5 or dm8.

Second pair of the lower bracket is flagfolk vs flagf7. History of those 2 meeting in euroleague suggests 2:1 for folk and as follows an upperhand in this round. They are training, they are active, they are ready ... and unless Careem won't be having his period folk is capable of increasing their personal lead to 3:1. As for f7 then I am really looking forward to see double-G 'on the field' and by double-G I mean G!psy and Gusius, becasue lately either APKIS^ couldn't pull his team or the rest of the team couldn't pull APKIS^. Anyway the intrigue in this match is skyrocketing. Will probably see next1 and dm7 here...

flagGsG9 vs flago4f pair is looking kinda onesided. GsG9 powered by 'golden boy' nopek (...who will get in trouble if he doesn't start recording) and 'Cs3 the Mighty' are not intending to give away points in this match. Despite GsG9 intentions o4f, being quite a young team, have their own ambitions and everything to proove. Hope to see grandmasta feebl to strengthen his team in this 'final battle'. Expecting to see a close fight at dm6 and maybe dm2. An appearence of dm8 in maplist also expected.

Last but no the least pair in the lower bracket is flagiafa vs flagSnG. Both clans were walking on the edge of w/o overdose during the group stage due to inability to gather 4 players for the game. Despite the placing in the groups both clans have their stars and firepower to write their names on the prize cup... if only those stars find time to attend a match. In case of top squads I would bet on SnG and their dm3/6. iafa however might use the forbidden lowkick of q2next1 and stands pretty confident on all-favourite dm1. SnG ace'up'a'sleeve is that they have been playing together for ages and even without decent training can show pretty teamplay, as iafa is only left with individual skills of a group of players.

Unfortunately for clan flagpbI6ka they were the only clan left out of the playoff stage. They have shown good skills and fairplay in their games and are welcome to participate in next season of euroq2l!

Hope you find this reading interesting and won't find all the typos before I do myself...
All teams good luck in your games!
