Finland vs Russia
Russia chose q2dm2 as their map, and Finland took the good old q2dm1.
Server would be Harva's Battle #1, but due to circumstances (read : ping/pl for Russia) Finland agreed to play the second map on Russia's homeserver : PlayGround.ru - Teamplay.
This is the second act of fairplay from Finland's side this cup, congrats!
First map : q2dm1 (Harva's Battle #1 -130.238.30.196:27910)
Ping were quite even in the beginning en the end of the map, but after 10minutes I had to hold the game for 3-4 minutes because the Russian players had ping 200-300 and heavy packetloss for a while.
Anyway, the game started and Finland immediately showed what they wanted : a total map lockdown...
Provi and thaigo held the MH-room,Damiah the rail-area and Jent the lift.
Russia got dominated almost the whole game, and couldn't frag a lot. The only place they could take over from time to time was the lift and frag Jent. But like I already said, Finland locked down they map and showed their rail/rocket skills.
Eventhough Russia was lagged for some minutes, they kept playing (until i held the game) and didn't moan.
GG!
Second map : q2dm2 (PlayGround.ru - Teamplay -212.42.38.154:27911)
Q2dm2 was Russia's map and for a moment i thought it was the right choice. Scores were quite even for the first minutes but then Finland took a fair grip over the map and didn't give it away for the rest of the time.
Height is from major importance on q2dm2, and that's what Russia lacked. They were jumping trough the lower levels of the map and didn't see the RA for the whole game.
From time to time Russia took over the MH-lift and/or the RA-lift, which gave them some quads.
Unfortunately they never went far with it, due to the deadly rail/bfg skills from Finland.
Mind the pingadvantage for Russia on this map, so the only thing i can say is that Finland were better.
Neverthless Russia took their best shot on this game and fought for what they were worth.
GG!
