Description
Belgium vs The Netherlands

After short server discussion we decided to play on Telenet where both teams had pings under 30. Netherlands picked dm1 and dm7 and Belgium's choice was dm2 and dm8. Both picked maps they knew best and only dm8 for Belgium was quite a strange choice.

First map : q2dm1

The first ended with biggest difference. The Netherlands controlled every place of the map for most time. tforce showed very high rail skills Dino! owned rail area and the others helped them much too. Only Gerdt from Belgium showed some eager to win, the others just whined it was boring game...

Second map : q2dm2

In the beginning of dm2, which was picked by Belgium, Netherlands showed that they were about to win this map too. tforce was very irritating for Belgian lift players and the others from Netherlands team owned quad. The red armor was mostly controlled by Belgium and maybe that gave them advantage fighting for next quads. When Gravgon was fully armored at lift and it was save, smalle woke up and started increasing his frag count. Since then Netherlands never had a chance to make a decent quad run, couse all quads belonged to Gerdt and smalle. In the end MgC took railgun and raced the map once again like a quadrunner. That gave such big frag lead in the last result.

Third map : q2dm7

dm7 was rather even also. Both teams fought very hard for red armors. I can't say who had advantage there, but there were two main team leaders. tforce controlled hyper and super shotgun area very well and Gerdt had rocket launcher control. Anyway Netherlands showed they were better on their home map once again and won it.

Fourth map : q2dm8

This was the most interesting map for me (I haven't seen the last one though) . Both teams tried to get powershields all the time, but neither of them managed to hold it for longer time. In the beginning rail area was more possesed by Netherlands which gave them little frag lead for most time of the game, but in the end Gerdt and smalle managed to get power shields and there was luckily enough time left to make their team win.

Fifth - deciding - map : q2dm5 (by Marty)

I lost my text in this shit site. Anyway first 10 minutes belonged to NL team. BEL was controling quad and rail, but NL guys was better Score 42:28 for NL in the middle of the game. Last 10 minutes belonged to BEL team , they(Gerdt and smalle) had impressive and sucessfull quadruns and made comeback. 8 minutes to end tied, and then escaped NL about 20 frags. In the very end NL tried to tie but it was too late.
GG

Conclusion :

Very close and exciting derby between The Netherlands and Belgium.

Scooby, demos available at http://www.quake2.be, Purity should also report a nice report within the next couple of days.
GG indeed, Belgium was on the better hand this season, rules say mapcount, so we deserved to win, but I'm absolutely sure NL is going to be one of our hardest opponents next season if we meet again.

I don't agree with someting like "beligium rocks" I think its an unfair/unpolite comment, because both teams where very equal..
In fact NL won in fragcount (490) vs 423 from BE, and they just lost the last and decisive game by a few frags thats all. Congrats BE and better luck next time for NL.
