USA crushed by Poland's finest

The match we were all waiting for, we would finally be able to check out how strong the US players were.

q2dm2 - Poland map choice



A logical map choice by Poland, probably one of their best and not the kind of what were you can get (ping)raped easily like dm1 (considering they had to play on away server).
This map was played on the USA server q2players, I had to deal with the weird gxmod but all in all it went ok for the settings and all, the match started pretty fast.

Right from the start, we could see the difference between the teamplay of both teams, USA had a chance to get a grip on the RA lift but there was only one of their guy up that lift and he seemed to be a bit surprised when he got attacked by the Polish quadrunner and got kicked out of the lift by another Polish dude taking the lift (kind of sandwich tactic if I remember well).
From then, the scenario never really changed, MORPH-X kept the RA while Assasin was cleaning the three towers with his rail+RA combo (I suggest to watch his demo to see some nice 130ping railing).
The americans put a bit more pressure at the quad especially at the RL Lift, still Scooby and Monument managed to get a good amount of the quads, when a USA member managed to get it, his quadrun was stopped as soon as he was enterring the RA tower by rails, bfg's, chainguns, etc.


q2dm6 - USA map choice



I think it's official, this is the worst map choice ever made in this league. Willing to play Poland on q2dm6 is already a bit masochist, but willing to play Poland on q2dm6 with a 100ms ping disadvantage is totally crazy.
Whatever, I thought USA had maybe trained that map a lot and could -maybe- manage to be dangerous for Poland.
After 5 minutes the score was 75 - -4 for Poland, I had understood.
Nothing much to say, a proper rape with Assasin at Rail, Scooby helped by Monument at Quad and MORPH-X who got killed only once at the BFG.

Still I have to say both teams stayed very 'pro', at a point outbr3ak from team USA timed out and everything was done to let USA pick another member, on the other hand, USA never moaned despite the severe (and boring) beating they received.

Conclusion

We were all expecting more from this match, too bad it turned out like this, I think USA did a very bad map choice although it's clear that Poland were superior whatever the pings were.
