Well to cap off the start of NDML 6, we featured NDML powerhouse Sweden
vs the virtually unknown team from Australia
.
And our Admin team proved ready and upto the task of getting this League on the go with 3 admins to send off this new NDML season.

I took the liberty of doing something different and interviewing a member of each team prior to the match to get their info on what was to come.
and
were upto the task.
Anyway onto the games. The maps chosen were Q2DM1
and Q2DM6
.
There was an issue with finding a server for this one. With Sweden
being in the North-Western Part of Europe and Australia
being in the South-Eastern part of the world, home/away games could not be possible. So we found a server in the USA
, Hal9000's GX pub. Pings were even here, though unfavourable to either side.
Q2DM1, Like most Non-Europeen countries, Q2DM1 seems to be the ideal map for their respective Q2 Commuinities. They will play it and play it until the map actually falls apart from all the explosions and weapon damage. If Australia was going to take away a map in this matchup, this would be the one. The game had started out rather tight, Australia had the lead for about the first 3-4 minutes, and seemed as if they were going to make a contest of this. But typical as Sweden is, they got their act together and managed to lockdown the map like we've all seen in the past with this squad, turning into a one sided affair after the first 10 minutes of this round.
Australia
0:1 Sweden
Q2DM6, now the quad damage is into play. At frist, watch this one it was again a close start. Sweden
did take the first few quad spawns, however they didn't seem to have it timed, quad runners seemed to be regrouping for weapons and not getting the quad as it spawned. Australia
seemed a little lost on this map, not taking advantage of the quad while Sweden
was regrouping for weapons. Sweden
again started to lock down key areas of the map. bubkez with 0 deaths had the YA and BFG locked down most of the map, which was a key role in Sweden's
blow out victory in Q2DM6.
Final. Australia
0:2 Sweden
This comes as no surprise to most NDML fans from their experience over the years, but hopefully for Australia
, this will be noted as a learning experience. Though I congratulate them for a valiant effort.
GG's both Sweden
and Australia
