Description
Due to the Atlantic Ocean being in the way - this game had to be settled in a home/away battle. Servers chosen were for US: Tastyspleen.net UDML and for the Netherlands: xs4all. The Average ping advantage, after the three games compiled, was of 12.8ms for the Netherlands .

('s Server)-('s map: q2dm5)
USA has a good start as mezzo secures RA for sinurgy and Slasher picks the first quad. USA therefore takes the lead and show rail-dominance at Quad for the whole game. tforce works very well as he forestalls about half the Quads from USA, along with Arch – but never completing any quadrun worth mention. Regardless, USA keeps increasing the Frag lead as they control RA and mezzo roams back and forth wiping any attack from the Netherlands. At the 12min mark, the Netherlands breach through RA and take the control for about 5mins, hampering the Frag lead USA was building up – however chl will finally be overthrown and sinurgy will take control back, pretty much sealing the game for USA. The last 5mins will include the best quadruns from slasher and a Netherlands realizing their loss.
142-53

('s Server)-('s map: q2dm2)
A good map pick by USA for an away match, a map with many camping spots where you can slow down the pace of the game, allowing a small frag difference. Netherlands had to recover USA’s 89-frags lead in order to choose server/map. The game started with balanced spawns as the Netherlands secures RA Lift while USA picks first Quad. The score will be even for about two minutes, until Arch executes two good quadruns, giving his team the lead. tforce gets a hold of the rail and start securing the RA Tower. There are constant battles at quad, but only Arch seems to be able to make it out of the pool, with the help of Shock at RL Lift. At the 8min mark, DaHanG secures the RA Lift for USA, and this was an important move for USA to reduce the frag difference, however three minutes later, tforce rocket jumps to RA and surprises both the campers, forcing them out of the lift. From then, the Netherlands kept racking up frags, and with 2mins left, and still over 20 frags behind the frag count needed, Arch converted two quads in amazing quadruns. The whole team set in motion in order to get the most frags possible, and as the timelimit hit, they had a 3 frags advantage over USA and were able to pick the same server for third game. 141-49

('s Server)-('s map: q2dm1)
As Netherlands picked the server, USA had to pick the map and went for q2dm1. Perhaps not the best pick considering the ping disadvantage, but it is also the map everyone plays in the USA, and is probably the map USA can perform the best on. Well, it didn’t take one minute into the game, that the Netherlands had the control of the map, and railguns were being brought to Megaroom. tforce kept the Rail position almost flawlessly throughout the whole match – while Arch and tc were securing Mega, and railing from Arena Ledge. chl lost the lift a few times but it was quickly taken back. DaHanG breached a few times through Megaroom but was instantly outnumbered. After 5mins into the game, Netherlands had pretty much sealed that game.
179-27

in all honesty.. we've played liek this since NDML IV, sure the rule needs to be changed a little, but the fact is we started NDML 6 already, so any changes should only come in effect in NDML 7. That way if we finally settle what we'll do about it, the teams that fell under the old rule can not complain.

is it simpler to that country who has bigger frag differenece of the first to maps to choose server, and that one who has less, chooses map..?

Choose the same map would be better then, both teams must knock-out the maps on the maplist. But who will start the first knock-out... =]

The only way an home/away game could be +- fair is when both teams chose the same map.

The thing is that 10 minutes games suck too. Another factor is the time it takes. Maybe if player were readying up directly it would be possible but, for exemple, yesterday a map lasted in fact 30 minutes:

10 minutes of warmup + blabla + whine + toilet etc. and then only the game.

Home/away system is flawed but that's the only thing we can do and we have to deal with it.
Or then play the whole game on a server where both teams have ping 250 which isn't much more interesting...

My idea was like this: country with the most frags will choose the map.
This map will be played 10min on home server and 10min on away server.

Its like for a 3 frag difference they had to play on pings 120 higher, its a bit harsh

Well surely a neutral server should of been found for the 3rd map, this seems totally unfair on the USA to play a decider on modem pings ??

nice report

this referee doesn't have a photo.. and I heard he was born in France.. unless I'm mistaken, so he was probably pulling for the euro team.
