Q2DM1 - The Edge Brazil's map
At the beginning of this map, it seemed like both teams were in a "getting-used-to-the-ping" phase. Lots of missed shots and the scores kept being very low for the first 5 minutes.
The game was also very close, none of the players really managed to secure a position and it was more of a struggle against ping to get a bunch of frags.
After 5 minute though, Estonia started to take position on the map and Brazil's fragcount freezed. A rape-like game started from there and the map was totally locked by Estonia, Brazil players were getting railed from everywhere. It was trully amazing to see
SHUGG at the Rail Area, you could hardly notice that he had an modem ping, many impressive rails.
When 5 minutes were left, Brazil managed to break into Estonia's Mega-Room defense and their score increased a bit. Unfortunately, Estonia still had the Rail well secured and this gave them an important edge in the battle for the room.
Superb play from Estonia on this map.
Q2DM2 - Tokay's Tower Estonia's map
This game was much more interesting. At the beginning again, the score was close: Estonia had the RA-Lift secured but couldn't really start the expected rail-fest, while Brazil took the early quads.
In fact, the situation remained the same for the whole game. Brazil had the upper hand at the Quad most of the time, they secured the RL lift with often 2 or 3 players.
Unfortunately, most of their quadruns were killed at birth by Estonia's railers or bfg spammers. Brazil never really attempted to regain the RA-Lift and I think it gave Estonia too much space to get geared with armors and devastating weapons.
Conclusion
I expected the contrary of what happened, I though dm1 would give a close game since Brazil seemed strong on this map and that they would get beaten hard on dm2. Estonia proved that their teamplay is on par with their skills this season, Brazil proved that they are not a dm1-only team.
GG and congrats to Estonia.
