Well, just noticed that this game actually won the "game of the week" poll for next week. Which is kinda unfortunate because as you see, the game has already been played. But don't worry, the other contenders were good matches as well, so think there will be a worthwhile game to take the spot as "Game of the week".
So, now lets take a look at this match. Coming into this match, you clearly realize Poland was the huge huge favorite, while Germany was the underdog (an Australian dingo sort of underdog), because Poland just has one of the strongest teams on the paper this season. And unlike other teams, they are just as strong in game as they are on the paper, if not a bit stronger. Germany on the other side is more laidback, and didn't rush into the game with too high expectations, and there were no real conflicts to overcome in the serverpickings either. dIem and I tried out some servers, and the polish teams came around as well, and we soon realized everyone seemed most satisfied with the home/away choice. If both teams agree, I'm not gonna argue way too much, allthough I tried to find a perfectly equal server for a bit, but realized there would always be someone a bit unhappy, and that would ruin a pretty nice Sunday evening for that poor chap. Better off doing home/away then!

Ok, it started out terrifying. Poland immediately claimed control of the RA lift and within a minute or so the map seemed to be locked down already. Scooby in his newfound role as RA-lift camper seemed to be a bit overkill, but still, he did his job there and every now and then you heard the ":] whoAhaWoahowowHah" or something like that coming from way above you. That being said, Assasin surely did his job and a bit more than that when it came to supply his teammate. Think he stood there dropping rockets for a minute straight at one time, inifinite ammo cheat for sure :P At quad, Ib0gInE ran the show. No idea how many quads he got, but he surely whored the map with his quadruns, and he had quite a few successfull ones as well. And he surely has his way of moving around the map. Cleaner helped out all he could as well, so poor Germans had not really much to do. Around the halfway mark somehow GER got control of the RA lift, where Frux was positioned for a while. But then, living up to his name, Cleaner did one impressive takeover rocketjumping to RA and killing both GER players camping that oh so precious lift. Aside from that, GER had scattered attacks throughout the game, but it was a hard battle. Poland just seemed so comfortable on the map, and allthough they seemed to slow down and not play as hard the last half, they managed to get quite an impressive score. Man of the match goes to Ibo, for his impressive quadruns, not only good aim but he also plays quad very smart, taking diff routes and knowing where the enemy is at all times. Nice watch!

Well, think the Germans by now realized where this was heading. After a short wait where we did some kicking of random spectators to free spots for the german players, the game got started. I have said it before, and I'll say it again: Poland is one great teamplay machine. On this map more than most shows that, how they distribute ammo/weapons around to map, how they hold positions, they got it nailed down 100%. Well, at least so good that GER never really stood a chance. Cs3 did a mans job on this map, standing in for Cleaner. At the start he had a impressive run with the SG and 5 health, were he got quite a few frags before Assasin took him down close up with hyper. Speaking of Assasin, he surely has an impressive close up aim with any weapon. Especially how he whored the hyper close up was impressive. The key is still how they held the RA, and not only held it, but they managed to get the RA stacked players out on the field making some frags. One thing is holding an area, another thing is to convert the area control into frags all over the map. Again, GER players did what they could, but they never had much of either health or weapons. Ibo again, the smoothest mover in the fray, seemed to be having fun up by RL, forcing his enemy (dIem) to jump into the slime. Some funny moments up there. Else, blaster blaster blaser. Gotta give GER credit for never giving up. But, Poland is just too strong now.
Anyway, a special thanks to sl" for running the scorebot in the #ndml channel! Much appreciated. Also to teams for making this game finish without any problems. Only delay was Frux eating dinner, but a that's long forgotten now :)
