Whee... another real clash of the titans. Anybody who knows anything about Q2 is always excited when the swedish and the finnish meet in battle. This time tension was twice as high, because just one day before Sweden had won the olympic gold medal in hockey. Against the finnish. 3:2...
q2dm2 - FIN's choice (SWE's server)
This map started out quite badly for the finns. The unluck continued throughout the map. Control was swapped around, when finns had the RA swedish tried to get the quad and vice versa. In the end SWE won mostly because of Slonken, who was pulling of mad quadruns with his ssg. FIN didn't get many quads, but Damiah was able to make some good damage when he got out of the water alive. The finns tried hard, but the swedes were always about 10 frags away.
SWE wins 111 : 124
q2dm1 - SWE's choice (neutral server from now on, since KTA battle kinda sucks most of the time)
In this map the finns were reborn. After 5 minutes they were in a small lead and continued to press hard on the swedes. Damiah was going crazy with railgun, after 10+ kills with rail I checked his accuracy and of course it was 55%! After 10 minutes the finns were already in the lead by more than 20 frags. As we all now, when two great teams meet in dm1 it's pure ffa most of the time, so control was gained and lost quickly. After 12 minutes the swedes started a little comeback which made the finns quite nervous as they definetely needed to win this map. 1:37 to go and a tie, 120:120! Finns had the luck this time quickly got a couple of life-saving frags to destroy the swedes on their home map.
FIN wins 133 : 126
q2dm7 - FIN's choice
There aren't any clans or nations on this planet who can beat Finland in dm7, I'm sure of it. While the frag difference was never big, Finland had a solid lead all the time and I think SWE knew in the beginning no good can come out of this. Thaigo was the man of the match, having the best efficiency and keeping the SSG area deadly clean.
(Note: on this map Pogo had to leave and Zorre had to call Purri, who was actually sleeping because he was sick. Nice work there Purri, being sick and woken up from your beautiful dreams you still managed to get the most frags in your team)
FIN wins 171 : 146
q2dm3 - SWE's choice
Sweden is bloody tough on dm3 as we all now, but this time magic happened. After 10 minutes the game was practically tied at 70:68 and then suddenly Finland made a 20 frag push, while Sweden only died. I think it was this that crushed the swedes. They started their comeback when about 4 minutes was left, but they simply didn't have enough time. The finns were determined to win this one.
FIN wins 143 : 130
GG! Special 0wn0r of the match award goes to Xircuit, who played with 70 ping and made some damn nice frags, especially in the beginning of dm3 where he railed like there's no tomorrow.
Finland is in the finals. It's getting damn interesting. With Estonia, Sweden and Poland still in the game we are going to see some freakish Q2 action! GL to all.
