This really is
Gerdt's game, but since he had to go to play a PCW!!!!! I was handed the responsibility to take the screenshot of the last map (but in all secrecy I also made a screenshot of the first map just in case).
Hehe, since I was on the server for most of the match I might as well write a few words about the match even though I wasn't paying attention 100% of the time. But, that hasn't stopped me from writing reports earlier, so here we go.
Q2DM3 :: Russia's map Well, this was sorta ugly. I came to the server as the score was around 100-10'ish, and it was not even halfplayed map. I switched povs around for a while, chasing quad mostly. Of course, the quad belonged to the Russian side who whored it hard for most of the map. Then I was watching a little Eurovision Songcontest Semifinals or whatever it was called, just to get a good laugh of course! Then I realized watching Mpk's kamikaze attacks on the quad was just as entertaining, I settled with his pov for the rest of the match absolutely ignoring anything else going on (yup, muted the sound on the TV). Well, the Mpk-rutine went something like this:
die -> spawn -> lava Mpk -> spawn -> blaster attack -> die -> accidentally steal quad -> getting railed by 3 Russians with big guns -> die -> spawn -> lava Mpk -> spawn -> "fuck it"
So in other words he was having a very hard time, thanks to the Russians' very solid maplockdown. Not much the Bulgarians could do here, unfortunately, but the Russian deserved this win as much as Lordi deserved their win last year.
Q2DM5 :: Bulgaria's mapBy now I was caught in a moring conversation with
who? of the #nein fame, talking about pigs named "the dancer" and boomspraying the whole town of Gin Gin and the usual stuff you chat to a mate from Australia (nescafe tastes the same way down under, unfortunately). So, coming back to the server seeing the next map was underway I decided to continue my chasing of Mpk as he proved to be very entertaining to watch last map. Well, there were no Lava Mpk on q2dm5 and that made this somewhat less entertaining map to watch, but he did camp (camping is nice) the red armor room for a while, taking Red Armors and running away trying to get the quad (which he obviously didn't have timed). Not sure if it paid off, as the Norwegian song in the Eurosong contest was starting and I had to watch it >;(!
Anyway, the map was somewhat closer, due the sheer size of the map there were less frags as the quadruns aren't as hectic. This made the Bulgarian team look somewhat better than the impression that was given on last map. But the Russians again proved to be the better team by more than a length of a horse.
GGs. Really hope to see both teams around for next season too!
