The game was played on
Tastyspleen.net NDML server and
Finland had a slight ping advantage but it looked like everyone agreed to play there.
Q2DM1 - Brazil's mapThe game started with Brazil having the lead, Finland took control of the Rail where Raskal stayed (and secured) for the whole game but the Brazilians had the Mega in their pocket and the deadly chaingun as well. At that early stage of the game when the players were not used to the ping yet, having a chaingun was really a big advantage. After 5 minutes, the Finnish managed to break into the Mega room thanks to some awesome rocket frags by Syanid (coming from the Lift and boom-booming 3 players in a row in the mega).
From that point, Foen had the "mega room coordination" role and made sure the weapons and items were perfectly shared among his team. During this time, Damiah could use his skills (and for once low ping ;)) against the Brazilians. He seemed to enjoy railing just as much as when he plays on European server.
Big thumbs up to Raskal who was a real tank at the railgun, impossible to get rid off him there.
From the Brazilian side, only Nohead kept his head up (ha... ha...) and gathered many frags with some oldschool rail+machinegun combo. He allowed his team to make a small comeback near the end by cleaning the mega room and the rail.
Overall, pretty big frag difference in favour of Finland despite Brazil displaying some good individual skills.
Q2DM3 - Finland's mapTime for the Finnish map, I was wondering how good they would perform on that map without their usual railmachine Provi.
The game started and directly Finland took control of the map, the first invul went to a Brazilian player but, as far as I can remember, he didn't make good use of it. Instead, the Finnish guys used Quad to secure the Rail which Raskal transformed into a bunker once again. The score was climbing very fast in favour of Finland and Brazil seemed devastated. Damiah and Syanid were sharing the quad and raping the Brazilians everywhere on the map. Foen decided he'd practice his rail aim and jumped in the Raskal bunker to gather many frags at spawns and in the arena.
When 5 minutes were left, Nohead and LaLaS stealed a rail and made some pretty good frags (killing the quadrunners), while Krauz managed to take the last Invul which he used to kill 2 rail-equiped Finns. Not enough to impress Finland who won this map with a big score.
ConclusionGood game! Finland proved they were at ease even with higher pings while Brazil showed some good invididual skills (especially on dm1) but a lack of coordination and teamplay when they don't have the control.
