On a cold Sunday evening, I was sitting at my desk finishing some work. I was tired and my eyes hurt. In some few hours I?d be at home to watch TV with my wife? I knew this kind of peaceful life would be mine for a long while now since I was almost done with this affair?

Suddenly, I received a phone call from Chief Inspectors d34d and Gerdt: ?erm, Inspector Gravgon??

Me: ?yes? What can I do for you d34d??
Inspector d34d: ?We have a problem and we need your help grav??
Me: ?ha well, it?s late you know, what kind of problem is that??
Inspector Gerdt: ?They are going to meet and fight grav??
Me: ?Oh my God, this is happening??

I was thinking to the quiet retirement I was ready to have but I knew this last affair could change the rest of my life. But I haven?t chosen this job to stay in an office, tonight it was my turn to get into the action!

At the Head Quarter:
Gerdt: ?OK here we are, coming from the North you have the gang of Sweden:
- Stuff: he?s the boss but he will stay in the shadow, keep an eye on him though
- Frza: the right-arm of Stuff, he has been in jail for a long while and no one knew about him before but they released him one year ago and now he wants his revenge
- Bubkez: He?s more dangerous than ever, he will block the zone and if we have to enter their base he will be our first opponent
- Odium: the old mentor, he has been in the busyness for years. If there is one man left that?ll be him.
- Sorax: one of their two snipers, some people say he?s a cyborg, if you see a small laser dot on you, run away quickly cause that guy hardly miss
- NaSSaL: He?s a former sniper but he?s their most dangerous one, he will get into the fight very quickly and he might enter a killing spree, watch him?

D34d: ?The others are from the east countries, mysterious and dangerous:
- Mik: the chairman, he will only enter the fight in last resort but he used to be an ace so don?t underestimate him
- Mkuh: the dirty-job man, he will cover his mates in all situations
- Warrior: the sniper, he might kill you and you wouldn?t even see from where he shots!
- Ibogine: young and aggressive, he will rush into the fight and you can expect everyone to get hurt.
- Sooby: last but not least, the spiritual leader and powerhouse of his gang, you?d better run fast cause you won?t escape him easily?

Me: ?OK guys, thanks for the advice. Those two gangs meeting each other is just like a bomb, it can explode at any time.?

I put my jacket and went to the place where everything was going to happen?

Chapter I: the meeting

On one side I could see 6 men, quiet as hell and just standing there starring at their opponent: Sweden was ready to fight.
On the other side, 5 other men chatting and laughing loudly, they had vodka to warm up.
Finally they ran to each other to fight?

Sweden seemed to be the most at ease on this map from the start to the end, Bubkez and NaSSaL quickly took place at the RA-Lift from where NaSSaL could start his usual RA-Tower Rail raping. Nevertheless, q2dm2 was Poland?s map so you can expect them to know what to do in such a situation; they spared the easiest death there although they tried to take RA back almost during the whole game. It seemed Poland was pretty careful, maybe too much even because Scooby?s grenades smashing at the RA window weren?t very successful.
On the quad side, Sweden had the advantage too, Odium was guarding the RL-Lift with any weapon he could find and thanks to this, either frza could get the quad and do deadly quadruns or they could stop Ibogine who was there to steal the quad just-in-time.

On this map, Sweden had the better start again with NaSSaL cleaning the room and the rail are in one chain load. This allowed Swedes to get rails and get the first frags. But Polish came back quick and attacked the rail and the room together. After few minutes the score was even, only the lift was pretty quiet with bubkez who took care of it alone.
The best way to sum up this map is to look at the NDML website header: the battles were almost all the time between the Rail Area and the Mega Room, the Arena was more the no-man?s land where they were all tooling up before attacking one of the two big positions.
I really need to highlight two men: NaSSaL and Scooby: the first for his amazing play which allowed Sweden to get back the Room and the Rail almost the whole game, Scooby was the motivation in POL team and he gathered his mates and did nice come back very often.
This was the first of the 3 dm1 that were played and the most even, Sweden won it after a hard battle.

Although Poland had the first powerups on this map (Quad and Invul), Sweden had the clearly better start and this thanks to the rails they got. Sorax?s fire aim came in handy at that part of the map but Poland knows how to attack together and this is what they did, Assasin and Warrior teamed together to beat down Sorax who was nagging them with his little railgun.
At quad, Scooby and Ibogine did many attempts to take it despite the domination of the zone by NaSSaL, Odium and Bubkez. They got fragged a lot there but managed to have several quads also and could keep the score pretty close.
This q2dm3 was very rail based, once a team had the rail secured, you could see their score increasing of 10 frags in a very short time until it switched to the other team. Finally Sweden had the upper hand and secured their 15 frags advantage to win.

After those four maps, the Swedes gang had won the fight and were leaving the place with a little smile on their face.
But the Polish stood up and with their blooded faces call the Swedes back
?hey guys, this is not over yet, mother fuckers?

Sweden started to laugh and one of their dude said: ?hehe, you haven?t understood the lesson yet? Prepare to die?

Chapter II: Poland?s breakdown

And there we went for the second best-of-5 starting with dm5. I think we can say this map was Scooby?s map. He was the most impressive player here and despite the big Swedish domination at the RA-Room (bubkez) and at Quad, Scooby managed to keep up and was doing lots of damage at all positions.
NaSSaL was doing well too and thanks to the fast communication he had with bubkez (they were lanned I think), his little Rail -> RA -> Quad path worked well.
Despite Scooby?s good efforts, the rest of Poland team was a bit overwhelmed by the heavy pressure of the Swedes and this time Poland lost dm5?

The second dm1 aka Sorax?s dm1. In this map, Sorax deserved the title of Genuine Human Bot ?
This dm1 ace was put at rail area by Sweden and from there he didn?t let any chances to Poland to get rails which are particularly deadly on this map. NaSSaL was following him all the game in the ?best efficiency? battle.
3 minutes before the end, Sorax overflowed and you can?t see the nice efficiency he had on the screenshot. Anyway he got replaced by Odium and this last was a good replacant. Sweden had already +- 70 frags advantage and didn?t have too much problems to finish this map.

Well, when I saw the maps chosen by Poland on IRC, I found that pretty weird to pick dm1 against Sweden. In my opinion they were too confident because of the pretty close result they did on the first one.
But this last dm1 proved this map is definitely Sweden?s best one. The frag difference was almost the same than on the previous one, as you can see Bubkez had the best efficiency here.
Not much things to say, Poland seemed tired and despite the fact I could see Scooby trying to motivate his team (I saw him standing after a respawn and I could guess he was telling them ?c?mon guys attack room!?) and few Warrior?s nice actions with railgun, Sweden had this last map ? and the match ? in the pocket.

The battle was over, Poland gang got punished by the evil Sweden gang. The Nordic dude disappeared in the fog laughing, satisfied of their 4th victory.
Nevertheless, everyone knew this wasn?t Poland?s last word, I put my hat on my head, lit on a cigarette and went back to the Head Quarter, after such an exciting affair, I just couldn?t leave the job so early?
