Hehe, just had to make an official poll about this:
Gib: soft or hard G?
Gibs:
In computer games, gibs (International Phonetic Alphabet: [some letters that wont show in this font), short for giblets, are the little bits of internal organs, flesh, and bone, generally smaller than entire limbs but bigger than golf balls, left when a person or creature is obliterated. id Software's Adrian Carmack is credited with coining the term.
Soft G: Gender
Hard G: Girl
So, do you say Gib with a hard G, or Gib with a soft G [Jib]? The reason I'm asking is this old where they're having a discussion about the topic. Gib is a word coming from the word Giblets that is pronounced with a soft G. But, I (and many others) seem to prefer the hard G in gibs. How do you say it? Cast your vote in the poll on the right-hand side.
While you're there, cast your vote on who will win the EuroQ2L final as well! | |
