Seems like the ideas of q2 are spreading around the globe in more ways than I would imagine. It looks like a recently founded organisation named FIFA has blatantly stolen the brilliant idea of the NDML creators to host a tourney where the best football-players (instead of q2-players) from each country represent their homeland to face eachother on the footballfield. Cleverly enough, they decided to ditch the 4 player per team and the timelimit 20 rules, instead going with 11(!) players per team and 90(!!) minutes timelimit. To avoid the hassle of serverselection and map-picking, they decided to have a huge lan-like tourney in Germany, where all games are played on a similar looking field (map).
Anyway, who do you think will win the world-cup? Will Sweden use their q2 NDML-experience and walk away with the victory, or will some unkown teams from South America win it, like Brazil?
The world cup kicked off earlier today with Germany winning 4-2 against Costa Rica. 32 teams will battle for the #1 spot untill the 9th of July. | |
