After wet, cold, hot and flooding summer all over the Europe, our Swedish admins are about to launch another Euroq2l, and this time it is number 8! Schools started, so what is better way to waste free time than playing q2. Admin squad is Swedes ph, pogo, Spam, Revo, Stuff, and Czech  wision. With those names you dont have to worry about anything else than your own games. Play them in time and you will have no problem.
Groups and schedules are already online and the first round began September 17th. Tho in Div 1 there still might be some changes, but those will be handled between the clans which it concerns, so dont worry about it.
Just have fun with q2 once again and make us enjoy watching your demos and close matches. The best luck to all clans and thanks for keeping this scene alive.

Summer break is coming to its end and community is about to wake up from lethargy. It means the new league season is coming really soon.
is one of the very first league to post a newsitem about its upcoming edition.
 Gerdt reveals that he thought of new tournament layout with new maps only to bring some freshness.
Quoting Gerdt :: I would like to introduce some new maps for the next tournament. The usual q2dm/rdm/ztn maps have been played over and over and to be honest, there weren't many surprising games in the previous editions.

The has just finished the first round of the groupplay, and there has been quite a few games played already. There are 4 games that have been , and the 2nd round has already started.
We're gonna replace the players who have shown no signs of life in the first round (not being around on irc, answering messages or mails), but luckily there are only 3 such players.

 Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty has again had a great showing in the world of Q4, ending up in 2nd place in the after beating players like Lost-Cauze,  Cypher and Cooller. In the grand final he faced Toxic/Toxjq, the favorite whom took down Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty in the winnerbracket final two maps to zero earlier in the tourney. However after beating the Swede two maps to none, he forced the second set of bo3 to a 3rd and deciding map, and in what proved to be one of the most tense games of the tourney he barely lost 10-12 after having a couple frags lead and control with less than 2 minutes to play. Congratulations to DaHanG nonetheless, and you'll get your revenge for sure in future tourneys.
Purri was also attending the event, but he unfortunately faced an early exit when taking a beating by Cypher and being knocked out by home-favorite  Gellehsak.

 1st :: Toxjq :: $5,250 + $1,000 Travel
 2nd :: DaHanG :: $3,000 + $1,000 Travel
 3rd :: Cooller :: $2,100 + $1,000 Travel

I have been trying to reach out beyond the Q2 TDM community to see if there is activity in other parts of Q2. And if I'm lucky I will be writing about different active q2 communties whenever I get the chance. Right now I'll focus on the mod called Railwarz.
Railwarz
Is basically a Capture The Flag mod with railgun and off-hand hook, where you'll see some stunning display of aim and movement but also focus on teamplay.
Quoting lidz :: When an expert offensive player can grab the flag and capture it in less than 10 seconds, having the ability to place a rail shot on them is important. Not to mention, when they are hooking amazingly, while you are hooking behind them in a mad chase.
Be sure to check out lidz' own little , where newcomers will get some advice on how and where to play etc. lidz has also provided with this (need to be logged on to download) as an example of the mod.

The main site was relaunched just a month ago, after the previous one had major isssues with the site itself and the forum. They recently started a , could be usefull to check out the rules if interested in how it's played. Another site worth visiting if you're interested in the mod is the site, that hosts most of the servers where games are currently being played. Here you will also find quite a few useful links to paks, forum and stats.

Again, quoting lidz :: I would love to get an opportunity to share this mod with the people at q2scene. Mind you the die hard CTF players, whom enjoy the grapple and quad/tech style of play are hard to change. Which is cool, to each their own. But for anyone who wants to try the fastest most intense q2 mod, I believe railwarz is the one to try.
Come join a server some night and spec some games, it would be cool to see you drop by.
