-[NEIN]- looks back at 2006 | 2007-01-02 10:34 | daelmun |
| |
| | |
|
cse from the Australian quake2 retirement home has summarized the year of 2006 for the Australian quake2 community as seen from his perspective.
It's such a good initiative I just had to make a newspost out of it, even though some of the humour gets lost on people not spending too much time in their channel (whether that's a good thing or not is another issue). But it's worth it for spliff's shoutcasting alone (sax's remix).

Column: new to TDM? | 2006-12-30 22:26 | daelmun |
| |
| | |
|
Just couldn't help it, I was playing a game with someone not so familiar with TDM and suddenly thought about how experienced q2-players tend to be expecting this and that from their teammates.
is made to tell you how you can play your own game without getting your teammates to whine and moan at your newbie teamplay skills. It's not so much about how to improve your teamplay-game, as it is how to not annoy your teammates.
Getting started with tdm is a tough enough as it is, and it doesn't make it easier if everyone on the server refuse to play with you, but this guide should help a bit. |

That's right, Easier said than done. No one said it better than Foen. Check out his in the section of the forums. It provides great feedback at all the tasks endured each season by the select few that make this game what it still is today. |

As in most leagues there is a christmas break, so next round will not finish untill the year reads 2007. |

Anonymous column on cheating | 2006-12-24 18:26 | daelmun |
| |
| | |
|
I was approached by someone on IRC the other day and asked if he could post a column anonymous. I agreed since it's on a topic that is pretty hot lately, and since I have really no inside knowledge about it myself.
is about former cheaters and suspicious players in the european quake2 scene at the moment.
I hope it will cause some debate, but cheating is a delicate matter and if it turns out just being another flamewar I'll have to re-evaluate it's validity. |
