We've finally decided on a map pool and a system! Personally, I think this map list is the most awesome one to date!
You sign up by clicking "sign ups" in the menu to the left, and then click "sign up" again. :) (You have to be logged in for that.)
The tournament will begin tomorrow, Saturday, at 15.00 CET.
Please, be online in #RDM.q2 at 14.50 CET if you wish to participate!
According to my calculations, the group stage will take around 2-3 hours to finish. The playoffs 2,5-3 hours. We should be done by 21.00 CET.
We will probably end up with 4 groups - 3 or 4 players in each. Top2 advance to a single elimination playoffs.
4 "captains" will be randomly picked. One for each group. Much like gibblördag or the recent q2tw tournament, the captains will then pick players for their groups (only in reverse order, probably). :)

Timelimit 10. Otherwise all game settings, system for picking/kicking maps, etc, follows the EDL rule sheet. So begin by vote webconfig edl!
Group matches & quarter finals: best of 3 maps
Semi finals & final: best of 5 maps
Players with a history of good behavior (finishing what they started, etc) will be selected before others. We want this to run smooth.

This is a bit last minute, but here goes.

The tournament will begin tomorrow, Friday, at 20.00 CET.
All participants must be online in #RDM.q2 at 19.45 CET, or they will not be entered.
Hopefully we will be able to start the final around 23.30 CET.
Depending on the interest, we will either have 3 or 6 groups. If 3 groups, the winner of each group will simply end up in the finals (yes, all 3 in the same final.. I'll get back to that. :]). If 6 groups, the top2 players of each group will enter a playoff phase of 1 round before the mentioned final.
The final will be a King of the Hill type of game with 3 players (=Trzech Kroli!). The final will go on until either one has won 3 games in a row, meaning it could go for quite a long time, or not long at all. :)
The silver medal will go to the one player (of the remaining two) who has the best map score. If tied, then net.

- first "king" will be decided in a blaster fight with all three competitors at the same time.
- first challenger will be whoever died last.
- the challenger always picks the map.
- each map may only be picked once per challenger.
- when the maps in the map pool has run out, the challenger may pick any map he wishes that is available on the server, but NOT a map from the EDL map pool.

Already time for another one-day tournament! :)
It will be held this Friday, January 6, on the day of Epiphany, Theophany, trettondagen, or whatever it's called in your country. Since it sounded much more awesome in Polish, Trzech Kroli, meaning Three Kings, I decided to go with that. :p
The tournament will start sometime in the late afternoon OR in the early evening. More info and details will be announced as early as I can tomorrow.
The sign ups are already open, but as I said, all information is not yet announced. So if you're not sure that you can actually show up anytime on Friday and play, please don't sign up yet. |
